If there is one game that would have turned Nintendo's 2008 E3 presentation on its head, it's MadWorld. Here's a game that's clearly pitched to those of us who don't want to pick fruit in Animal Crossing, train fluffy Pokemon or play the virtual larinet as if the Wii Remote dispenses sherbet when you suck it.
We dropped into the offices of PlatinumGames during the Tokyo Game Show in October to see exactly what kind of brutal game it is they're brewing. Atsushi Inaba (producer) and Shigenori Nishikawa (director) were on hand to fire up the chainsaw and show us how it's done...
The motion-controlled maverick of a console that had everyone from age 9 to 99 swing a TV remote to bowl and painstakingly recreating themselves as Miis, had its share of hits, but even so, some titles didn’t quite get their due.

Beneath all the Smash and shovelware, the Wii really did have quite a few gems.
Not a bad list.. I would add Excitebots, Kororinpa 1 & 2, Bit.Trip series, Geometry Wars: galaxies

Keanu Reeves appearing in the trailer for Cyberpunk 2077 is far from the strangest celebrity video game appearance. Game Luster's Kate Mitchell highlights gaming's most unexpected voice acting moments.
Well there is a bright side to the Wii's low-powered hardware. Because Wii developers can't spend time on ground-breaking graphics, if they want to make a game that stands out, they have to get artistic. MadWorld is a great example of that. It is kinda nice to see some more mature games on the Wii. MadWorld is pretty bloody :)
I do have a big concern about MadWorld. From the gameplay videos, it seems like it can be REALLY hard to tell what's happening on-screen sometimes. Everything is black and white and it kinda blends together. Maybe it's just poor video quality I'm looking at.
Hey you can literally make a joke out of the gruesome black-and-white MadWorld:
Q. "What's black-and-white and red all over?"
A. "MadWorld!"
"The game is also strictly single-player. With your hero character Jack racing against another competitor to win each stage, we don’t see why there couldn’t be a head-tohead multiplayer option."
...Gameplayer, everybody.
