STALKER 2 devs joke developing it "was a really bad business idea"

The S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 devs have said that the game was a really bad business idea, but they've powered through anyway.

The studio definitely got dealt a rough hand with everything else they had to deal with throughout development. I hope they turn out a great game, but almost more than that I hope that in the end they're proud in themselves for what they deliver, comrades.

Releasing on Xbox at first is a bad business idea.

Unfortunately, Xbox/M$ is the only reason this game is even being released. Without their backing, this game would’ve been lost forever.

At least a ps5 port IS a smart business decision, for M$ ;)

Hopefully they'll see sense enough to port it.

And Sony would rather fund titles like Concord only to flop with less than 200 players a week after release.

Tacoboto642d ago

That's gotta be gut wrenching for the team.

58 on steam as a low point over the night. Imagine only having the playerbase for five full matches in a GaaS...

"Releasing on Xbox at first is a bad business idea."

It´s thanks to Xbox, that Playstation players will be able to play that game in the first place. Sony never cared about S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 or the guys at GSC Game World.

More like a broken clock is right twice a day. Xbox has had zero ability getting exclusivity to third party games for the very reason originally stated. This just happened to be one of the avenues they chased that worked out, out of many. If you buy 100 scratch tickets there will be a few winners. Don’t praise Xbox, praise the law of averages. Their ability to be consistent continues to elude them. Even the worst home run hitter in MLB can hit home runs. How many more of these phrases do you want?

Tacoboto643d ago (Edited 643d ago )

Imagine thinking like Rupee, when Sony is more focused on:
Factions 2, only to cancel it
Spider-Man GaaS, also shelved
That canceled Deviation game
That rumored Horizon friendly GaaS
The Bend Studio GaaS
Fairgame$ (lol)
Destiny
Marathon (too soon?)
PC Ports
(Edit: can't forget Concord now...)

Don't worry, third parties have you covered now for your third person action RPGs

I am soooo worried that S2 will be a mega hot mess at release...bugs and performance issues that make Cyberpunk2077 look rock solid.

isarai642d ago

I REALLY hope this game is a success, these devs have been through a lot and really seem to have poured a lot of passion into making this game happen

At least its sales won't be cannibalised by GamePass.
Not releasing on PS5 is a bad business idea though.

30fps sucks. Especially on an OLED.
