This isn't a Xbox vs PS thing...lets just call it what it is, a really shitty move from Sony

I mean they were lied to by Bungie, overestimating their financial projections and what they could do as a company but even then they didn't need Bungie when you had Square Enix selling off someone like Eidos-Montréal for dirt cheap in comparison.

Sony could have used a fraction of that Bungie money to buy Eidos-Montréal and own Thief, Deus Ex and Tomb Raider....TOMB RAIDER which would have been perfect since NaughtyDog closed the chapter on Uncharted. Not to mention Eidos did that Guardians of the Galaxy game and considering they've had success with Spiderman and are developing a Wolverine game they could have done a sequel to Guardians which would have brought them into their little Marvel Universe their building.

I am talking about what a dead game actually is.

Sony was not lied to.
That is a conspiracy theory.
It takes zero rocket scientists to see bungies issues they put themselves into.

1 functioning ip creating revenue..
3 AAA games in the oven since 2018.
A new massive studio.
Nearly 2k employees.
Their own music studio.
Etc etc etc….

They finished the final shape dlc knowing there were going to lay more people off.

Bungie is still at 850 developers/employees.
Larger than a lot of other studios.
They were mismanaged with aspirations.
Sony is still devoted to Bungie.
They still, one way or the other, have 3 ips from them.
Destiny and marathon are the only ips at Bungie now.
Let’s also not forget they have Sonys muscle of a lot of the fat they cut out of Bungie.
