killzone 2 is still a terribly generic and unfamiliar FPS that will not spark interest from the public for the ps3.

Its a shame because sony could have made 3 more exclusive Games with the amount of money and contractors they put on the killzone project

I just don't get this "save the PS3" mentality that every exclusive gets saddled with when it comes to the media. THEY create this criteria that each game has to be judged on some god high level of making the PS3 instantly sell 10 million units and light up the sales charts for 20 months on end... and when it doesn't happen, they bash the title for it.

Weird. Most smart gamers I know simply judge the game based on its own merits and flaws, instead of trying to make everything out to be a savior or "flop" and pass spiteful judgment. Judge the game based on the game, not on some BS game politics impossible scenario. Go have some fun again!

It's a freakin' shooter...aimed at guys who like to blow up stuff (in the virtual world, at least).

It's a departure from your "normal" FPS shooters. Sure, it's a space-based game, but instead of fighting another alien species (Halo, Resistance), you get to fight mutated humans.

The complex politics behind the plotline can be related to real-world politics. For example, are the Helghans the "bad guys" or are they really the oppressed ones and not the ISA? No more Nazis, Soviets, Arabs, or Japanese to shoot at this time!

In short, it's something that the vast majority of male gamers want(sorry female gamers, but it's the case), BUT at a refreshing new angle!

For me no game has ever matched it's hype but then no game has ever looked as good as K2.

I think it's fair to say that certain aspects will not be perfect.Scripting is one area that is definitely a possibility and so too will be if sandbox exists - even the very best fps's don't always have this but it's inclusion makes for fun replaying of levels

Just expect a dazzling a to b shooter in the most graphically gorgeous worlds your eyes have ever seen and any minor failings wont be anything of a problem

This is the one game that i would buy a PS3 for so fingers crossed it's not all just dressed up

i cant really see this mess up. if anyone has seen killzone then they cant deny its the best LOOKING AND PLAYING game on any system! just the feel that your in the battle gives me shivers the explosions and the bullets hitting the ground just all the stuff thts going on around u is hard to take in all at once it almost makes u wanna puase to breathe lol! and even if the single player sucks (which cant happen even if the world flipped upside down got nuked 3 times in a row and blown towards the sun and back killzone would still rock) we got the multiplayer which pwns cod4 and halo....halo 1 was awesome i got to admit but the killzone multiplayer beta kills it and cod4 is outta the picture! no way this game cant live up to the hype

I love Halflife2 and it is absolutely one of the games of this type you should play at least the once.However like most games of this type, it is not up to repeated play like Halo3.Enjoyed HL2 a couple of times through but it's combat design is essentially the same each time you play it.Just about all FPS are which really is why sandbox(not like GTA obviously) inclusion is so important - unless you only want to play the game say twice

Played Halo3 campaign level some 150 times now for the simple reason it's it's just hugely replayable - one of the most disappointing games ever though that's for sure but i can't knock it one little bit regarding it's fun factor once you get over initial underwhelming

And i guess that's my trouble.I like to play games a lot, choosing to go through Halo3 for example because i'm having so much fun doing exactly the same level yet in a completely different way - it does require sandbox for it to stand up to repeated play like this.I sure as hell wouldn't go near Halo3 if it didn't play entirely differently each time

Cod for example or Halflife2 really don't play all that different the more you play them and from what iv'e seen of K2, nor does this.I guess some people don't care too much about repeated play is all

For sheer thrills alone, yes K2 should do very well indeed, my arguement shall always be that i can get that same hollywood thrill watching the best action movies and i guess game players don't crave for much when it comes to living in these fps worlds past a few plays

Yup.Killzone 2 is pretty much the best game ever!!

Why am i interested in this game? Firstly the gritty universe. I love the look of it, the Helghasts look like worthy badguys that i'd want to take out. And the multiplayer looks AMAZING. My favorite online game of this gen, and ever is Team Fortress 2. I love that class based online system and with it looking like a emphasis on teamwork i'm sold. I prefer more of a team orientated multiplayer vs game than just a game if there's 1 great player he can basically rule the entire game.

A solid single player and a damn good multiplayer. That's why i'm interested aka "hyped" for Killzone 2.

I think it will be worth it. The games graphics don't need mentioning and from the MP vidos we've seen along with the testimonies of those in the beta, it's primed to be one hell of a game. The SP looks ike it'll be solid because of the backstory to the KZ world.

There is no hype outside of the gaming media. Halo 3 posed on mountain dew cans, and yes i stood outside for my copy of Halo 3, which i traded for CODWAW. i know Killzone 2 will be the game to play just like COD will be for the xbox 360 owners. As i sit and watch these videos of Killzone 2 i can only think that my PS3 will turn golden when i inject KZ2 into my PS3. Killzone 2 will be worth it. If at least it plays like COD4 with job classes and showcase pure graphics, could it go wrong? In my opinion, no. the only hate and discussion over Killzone 2 is because it is not on the xbox 360.

I don't understand what is the relation that because a game looks very beautifull that is must be very cool worth 10/10.

For me I will only belive that KZ2 is really uber in all aspects after I play it and see it by myself.
Right now it can be as cool as The Conduit exclusive for the Wii for exemple.
But KZ2 online does not match Resistance 2's 60 players vs or a coop mode because Kz2 does not have co op at all.
What I expect from KZ2 is to be at least a fun game like Heavenly Sword or Uncharted, good but unfortunetelly short.

Sony really does need another mainline shooter franchise. They pretty much gave up after the PS3 generation, and I'm really surprised they haven't tried at another high-profile, singleplayer-centric shooter; even if it weren't Killzone or Resistance.

I miss Killzone while I can see why they still do Horizon has some really good things but I do think that Horizon is overrated imo.

Or how about studios focus on projects that they feel passionate about, and not be forced to make something they have little interest in. It shows in the final product.

I’m beating a dead horse here… but Resisitance FOM gun lay out was so fun, multiplayer was one of my top favorite experiences. Insomniac nailed it and I would love a remaster and maybe a redo with Reisistance 2. They listens to players who were wanting a Halo killer and it kind of lost its character from the first.

Warhawk, if they had just remade the first one not Starhawk which offered nice things like the build and battle.. but Warhawk was the best arcade shooter I ever played. Back when you didn’t have battle passes and you actually had to get certain amount of kills or ribbons to unlock different paint skins on the Warhawks and armor for your player.. Look at the success of Helldivers 2, it’s a fun game and it reminds me of Warhawk in a way. I’ve been wanting a remake or sequel since the beginning of the ps4 gen.. it’s hurts to have hope nowadays. Even with the demise of the studios Sony has a steady fan base.

Killzone game after Killzone 2 play style would be nice

That said, I'd love it if Warhawk returned or Metal Gear Solid 4. It needs to not be shackled to the PS3 generation anymore. A Killzone 2 remake would be insane with modern graphics and that art direction.

I really miss this gen of gaming. It felt like the last truly "great" era for videogames before the modern approach really took hold.

I would pay good money for a Warhawk remake. Socom too. The last Socom game just didn’t do it justice. Folklore could use a remaster or remake as well.
Several other titles I would like to remade with the amount of visual fidelity the current gen has over the past consoles it could help articulate the games that we’ve loved growing up. I would love even some ps2 titles to remade.. Dark Cloud from ps2, Legacy of Kain series but don’t know what will come of it sense it was bought by Embracer group and all there layoffs.

This strategy is exactly what helped ruin Xbox. Sony more than Microsoft know when to let a franchise go and that is important to keep things fresh. The old games are there if you want to play them.

FF13 is top of this list for me. No matter your opinion on it, it being the only numbered offline FF out of all 16 not to be on new consoles is odd. GTA IV would be great too
