I was really skeptical about this game but after sinking 4 hours into the game. I actually really enjoy it.
I was surprised how much I liked it after downplaying it. Gameplay was fun. I might have to buy it.

_SilverHawk_563d ago

whats funny is the game wasnt on my radar until i saw a lot of people bashing it calling it rubbish before theyve played it. i played it when the beta came out and thought it was amazing. i didnt go into it thinking anything much other than its just another thing ill probably like or dislike

StormSnooper563d ago

People who have played it love it. People on internet insist it’s horrible. 😆

shinoff2183563d ago

I think alot of us just don't want it. This isn't the type of games we want to see from Sony and it's talking sht sure but in the end we will show em with our wallets. I'm sure this will sell but they probably expected more in the end. I've always stuck with Sony cause I prefer their games and rpgs. In real life Sony let Ms buy up a huge chunk of the wrpg market and their giving us this to play.

On the bright side I like jrpgs the most and alot of devs won't even touch Xbox so ps is the winner by default.

StormSnooper563d ago (Edited 563d ago )

Sony didn’t let MS buy a huge chunk of the industry, MS and their lobbyists did that. Also, Sony will not be able to compete with MS if MS gets a pass on their gaas games while Sony’s are criticized for doing the same thing. Almost all MS games have been gaas games but they don’t receive the same backlash. In other words, Sony are crucified because we liked their single player games despite that they said the gaas games won’t deter them from their single player heritage.

Lastly, MS buying a chunk of the wrpg industry may give them temporary leverage, but, as we’ve seen, even their pockets are not deep enough to keep those games off PlayStation. Furthermore, if MS manages to block games from Sony, the forces of supply and demand will eventually fill in for what MS took from everyone.

Ps: I’m 95% single player gamer. But I don’t think just because I’m not interested, I need to bash a new game that is not even out yet. If you liked Sony’s single player games you shouldn’t prevent Sony from competing in the gaas genre.

ThinkThink563d ago

This game is giving me sea of thieves vibes in the sense that there is a good base game there, which just needs to be expanded upon with community feedback until it shapes up into something special. If the studio sticks with it, it could end up being something entirely different in 5 years.

MrNinosan563d ago

So just because you (or alot) don't want the game, you feel that the bashing is deserved?

If I don't want Barbie games or Call of Duty I gladly just pass and don't mind them.

Sony bought Firewalk 3 years after they started on Concord. We PS fans didn't lose anything because of this, we just got more choices and since when is that bad?

Now I can keep on ejoying my single player games, while people who like hero shooters can play Concord or people who like Helldivers can play that.

The bashing on Concord, by people who haven't even played it, is just ridiculous.

X and Youtube is filled with hate for nothing, and they all write about only 1k whatever played the beta, but the are way more than those thousands that are bashing the game.

It's lame...

Not every single game is meant for YOU or everyone.

Before Helldivers 2 and Concord, Playstation got bashed for only having single players third person story telling games. Now they're expanding (not removing), and still receives constant hate.

I hope Concord succeeds, just like Helldivers 2 and silence all those cry babies.

StormSnooper562d ago (Edited 562d ago )

@thinkthink
It won’t need 5 years. It’s a solid foundation already. Not a broken game like sea of thieves was at launch. The question is, with the amount of preemptive hate, will it get the chance? We will see.

VenomUK85d ago (Edited 85d ago )

BAD MODERATION FROM N4G - fair but humorous and critical comments were hidden with the Spam label being incorrectly used for the cover up.

DarXyde84d ago

It feels more like them being bitter that no one supported it, but maybe it's me.

I'd appreciate them bringing back Warhawk—sadly I don't see that happening.

hombreacabado84d ago

hell yeah bring back warhawk. i thought helldivers 2 would fill that itch but not quite. that to me was the funnest online experience i ever had on playstation. last of us online was also a fun time but warhawk was quite cool made so many friends on that.

DarXyde83d ago

You and me both, mate. I'm totally a single player gamer through and through, but there was something about Warhawk that was absolutely captivating. Could play for hours.

Gamersunite88085d ago

Oh lord. This is hilarious. It's not Nintendo doing it this time. Lol

Lexreborn285d ago

Did people really think they would let people potentially profit off of what THEY said was trash? It’s actually funny people even tried this

Commentby85d ago

The Sony overlords these people worship

StormSnooper85d ago

You gotta admit it’s weird that anyone out there wants to play it considering we were told it was shit.

Fishy Fingers85d ago

Profit? Hosting community servers would cost the mod team money, not make it :/

StormSnooper85d ago

Yeah, now they like it? Make up your minds people.

jambola85d ago

The people who liked it like it
The people who didn't like it, didn't
They made up their minds, its just different people with different views, I can't believe i have to explain this

InUrFoxHole85d ago

The overwhelming majority of people think its a dumpster 🔥. Even sony can make trash my man. I personally liked it but I also liked the last 2 medal of honors and people didn't like those either

franwex85d ago

Wow. Can’t have it cannibalize sales of the official game, right?!

Former Firewalk Studios Developer On Concord: "It Was The Most Beautiful Car That We Crashed"

A former Firewalk Studios dev called the canceled multiplayer first-person hero shooter, Concord, "the most beautiful car that we crashed."

Relientk77157d ago

The most ugly car crash you mean, especially the characters. The game was a generic ripoff of Guardians of the Galaxy and Overwatch. It was awful stop trying to defend it. It is dead and I hope it never comes back. The "best" part of the game was probably that it actually ran.

Alos88157d ago

They went in thinking it would be automatically successful because it was a Sony game, but in the end it didn't have the audience they expected.

Notellin157d ago

Because PlayStation is just a third party machine for the next Madden and COD to the majority of owners.

Cacabunga156d ago

Beautiful or not, it’s gamers who decide and not developers. If gamers criticize something the devs better listen.
In the end we crushed those gaas plans.

GamingExplained101155d ago

There's no automatic success, no one is that naive.
They thought their ugly characters were going to reshape in people's minds what they think is attractive. This is why the ugly female developers keep making ugly characters in games that resemble them ie. Spiderman writer inserting herself as Mary Jane.
Women think status is attractive, so they insert themselves in status positions in media, games etc and believe men will find them more attractive because of that status. Instead, we just don't buy their games, since men are not attracted to status.

RaidenBlack157d ago

But as far I can recall, it had pretty good launch performance and minimal bugs

INMATEofARKHAM156d ago

Hard to have bad performance when no one plays and the servers never take a load...

Krablante157d ago

O please give me a break 🤣🤣 you made a turd. Open up your nostrils and smell it. You’re not going to learn from your horrible mistakes with this attitude

Notellin157d ago

Muhammad Ali Bari is the worst AI generator of articles in all of gaming.

CrimsonWing69157d ago

Y’all might want to start listening to your consumers before going through with things. Or at least have a finger on the pulse of what the people you’re trying to sell a game to are wanting to fork money over.

dveio157d ago

There can be a lot trash talk and logical criticsm and a game can still sell millions. Concord though didn't pass its test of release.

That's tough, that's unforgiving and it hurts.

But it had its chance. It should be benficial for everyone to dust it off and to just move on.

Hermen Hulst Addresses Concord Failure, Sony Will Take Cautious Approach to Live Service Games

Hermen Hulst says PlayStation has learned from Concord’s failure, stressing diversity of experiences over number of live service releases.

-Foxtrot168d ago

Or maybe just focus on what your good at instead.

Inverno168d ago

They can do good multiplayer games too. They had Warhawk, and Killzone 2 was highly praised, Uncharted 2 was simple but stupid fun, MAG was holy unique, Factions was a nice change of pace (I played that shite nightly). Factions 2 was probably going to be their Holy Grail and we got Bungie and the Concord failure to thnx for it's cancelation.

Christopher168d ago

I think the problem is they went too far into Live Service mentality with some of those, specifically with TLoU2 MP. Instead of focusing on just core gameplay and free MP, they focused too hard on how to make it last and create more money for them.

TheEroica168d ago

Yeah Sony listen to this guy.... Keep making live service games, it's working out great.... Mag 2 will sell gangbusters. Lol.

VenomUK168d ago (Edited 168d ago )

In the interview Hermen Hulst reveals that Sony now has many more oversight checks 'in very many different ways.' I really hope that it has added 'cultural' checks to see how a game, its world and its characters will resonate with the audience Sony will be trying to sell the game to. This is because a big part of the criticism of Concord by gamers was the unattractive characters (not necessarily in appearance, although that too) and the perception that the developers prioritised their social messaging over the player experience.

Miraak82 167d ago

When I think back to my fondest memories as a PS gamer ps3 era was my favorite especially where their 1st party output was concerned, I just loved the multiplayer offerings with Resistance, Killzone, Warhawk, Mag, LBP . Now let's not forget they had a whole division dedicated to LIVE SERVICE gaming in the form of SOE which put out bangers like Everquest, DCUO, Planetside and Star Wars Galaxies but decided to sell it off .

LBP was basically a live service before live service was a thing, i spent so much buying new levels and building materials , man I would love a new LBP with current hardware with a fresh server .. pretty sure it was a cash cow before they gave up on and eventually it abandoning altogether.

If only they put in as much effort like when they actually had to compete , no need to put in the effort though after seeing that ps store and ps+ revenue when ps4 released .... it's gone downhill ever since ... just chasing the dragon now

Hermen Hulst and his leadership team need to deliver or give them the boot. Of course a boot with a lucrative golden parachute. #failup

TheEroica168d ago

They've let you down around every conceivable corner this gen. A wasted generwtion for Playstation gamers.... They're paying for the same games they've already played in remakes or simply buying Microsoft games. Ps5 has no games and gets pricier as time goes on. Just eww.

raWfodog167d ago

Ok, you're being a bit dramatic now. There are plenty of good PS5 games to play (out now and soon to be released).

"They're paying for the same games they've already played in remakes or simply buying Microsoft games. Ps5 has no games..."

Definitely not the most prolific PS generation but, to hear you tell it, PS5 gamers aren't playing anything except remakes and MS games LOL

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
ReturnalAstro Bot
Astro's Playroom
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
Stellar Blade
Marvel's Spider-Man 2
Rise of the Ronin
Black Myth: Wukong
Final Fantasy XVI
Forspoken
Helldivers 2

Future releases:

Ghost of Yotei
Lost Soul Aside
Phantom Blade Zero
Wolverine
Intergalactic

Those are just the ones off the top of my head.

__y2jb167d ago

Rawf - that’s a depressingly short list of mostly average games. This gen is a complete dud imo.

Mr_Writer85167d ago (Edited 167d ago )

@raWfodog

This list is awful, especially in comparison to previous gens, and that has to include none first party games.

The PS2, PS3 and PS4 all had much better first party output.

MehmetAlperTR167d ago

@raWfodog on your list, most of them are third party games... Where is the first party games ? We are talking about them !!!!!

S2Killinit167d ago

What are you talking about? PS5 has more exclusives than xbox and its not even close. Who are you comparing them to?

CrimsonWing69168d ago

You didn’t learn the lesson here? That’s like a criminal saying, “Next time I just won’t get caught as easy,” after getting arrested 🤦‍♂️

Christopher168d ago

"The number [of live-service releases] is not so important. What is important to me is having a diverse set of player experiences and a set of communities."

That sounds like learning to me.

CrimsonWing69167d ago

If they were serious about “learning,” they’d STOP chasing live service altogether. Calling it ‘diverse experiences’ doesn’t change the fact they’re still looking to pursue the same model players already rejected.

Levii_92168d ago

How about just not focus on them at all? Focus on making games like Astro Bot, you know the game everyone loved and won you GOTY instead ridicule and shame.

Goodguy01168d ago (Edited 168d ago )

What they should do is keep the big focus on singleplayer, keep all your studios that specialize in singleplayer focused there. Have or hire small teams to make live services from your IPs as to avoid going crazy with budgets. Smaller budget means more creativity and less focus on greed and following trends. Live services should be a side thing for you sony.
