Alan Wake II Is Finally Getting A Physical Release

The sequel was notably a digital-only release when it launched last year.

anast587d ago

HA! It's little late, but it might bring up those numbers.

OhReginald586d ago

So you would rather have a physcial edition that doesn't include the day 1 patches and bug fixes Than a complete updated version of the game?

andy85586d ago

Yes? Literally. Why would I want to wait nearly a year for the sake of downloading patches

shinoff2183586d ago

I'll take the most up to date physical. I've got no issue with having to play things on day 1 most of the time.

isarai586d ago

Nah, was a dumb move to launch with no physical. But I've seen MANY people including myself waiting for a physical release of this game. Already pre-ordered mine.

gold_drake587d ago

its about time

but ... i already saw limited run games selling it.

if there are others selling it too, i will get it, but if not, hard pass.

Petebloodyonion586d ago

Limited Run only makes the Collector edition.
The deluxe edition will be available everywhere

isarai586d ago

This, just pre-ordered mine from GameStop

ActualWhiteMan586d ago

Wont buy that shit til it’s on sale on steam.

TheColbertinator586d ago

Sounds good if they get the game on the disc itself not just a disc that sends you online to download it.

CobraKai586d ago

Now im interested. Looks like i gotta just wait patiently for Hellblade 2 um too.

A Late Look: Alan Wake 2

VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "In retrospect it’s not hard to see why some people were insistently raving about this game at the end of a year as star-packed as 2023, because even among that pack it stands out as, if perhaps not the best, then certainly the boldest. Its gameplay is what it is - sometimes great, sometimes a bit underwhelming compared to everything else - but its writing and atmosphere (and soundtrack) are simply exceptional, and it’s certainly a game that has to be experienced by any longtime fans of storytelling in games."

Yeah a game without Alan Wake….for the most part

LoveSpuds42d ago

Coincidentally, I finished my play through and got the platinum trophy last night in Wake 2. Personally, I thought it was a fantastic game. Spooky at times, made me jump a bunch of times, intriguing story and such a weird but fun sense of humour. I loved it, among my favourite games I have played this year.

Storm2341d ago

It's on my list of games to play (which is way too big). Might need to play it soon. Sounds awesome.

All the people who passed on this masterpiece are lost.

repsahj42d ago

This is what I am playing on my PS5 right now. Great game but I still prefer RE series.

LoveSpuds42d ago

Modern Resi games in particular have been pretty incredible, amazing how consistent the quality has been since Resi 7 really.

repsahj42d ago

Agreed, that is why I am so excited for Requiem. But this time, I will play it on Switch 2.

Legendary game, if not buldurs gate 3 this would have won game of the year

Cool, Alan Wake2 I still need to try out the first one. GOAT Simulator didn’t know they even made more after the first one, I’ll give it a go for a few minutes I guess. Not sure what Cocoon is, will have to look it up. Regardless they all will be added to my library.

SonyStyled107d ago

You mean you missed GOAT 2 after the massive success of GOAT 1 and it’s DLC stories 😱

Just jump into GOAT 3 and it’ll make sense (or not, up to you as a goat).

Storm23107d ago

Alan Wake 2 and Cocoon were on my list of games to play so this month is awesome for me.

jznrpg106d ago

Pretty good month. I never played a goat simulator game. I would try it if I didn’t always have a massive backlog of games I really want to play. Maybe someday.

How the Remedy Connected Universe does the multiverse right

ScribbleCat said: Media is certainly no stranger to connecting all their properties together. Comic books have been doing this for generations, and TV is also known for special crossover episodes, which confirm the notion that they take place in the same fictional world. Video games, which can be barely called a new medium at this point, also have some interesting overlaps with connecting different games. For example, Valve’s Portal and Half-Life show how subtle hints can give players more theories to chew on. Old classics like DOOM and Wolfenstein also share similarities. But my favorite connection between games is the Remedy Connected Universe. While only a connection between Alan Wake and Control have been confirmed, there is SO much more to explore with Remedy’s crazy take on this old formula. And, according to Sam Lake, this is only the beginning.

SimpleSlave208d ago

They really should release the full Quantum Break experience on the PS5. Sure, it's a middle-of-the-road third-person shooter and a perfect example of self-indulgence, but why not? It was fun in short burst and it completes the Remedy set until Max Payne 1+2 Remakes get released later on.

Do it, Microsawft. Don't be cowards.
