Seems to be inspired even more by R&C than the previous games. Can't wait to feel those environments in the DS5.

More of Mario sunshine or odyssey to me than rachet.

darthv72595d ago

Guess we can thank Mario 64 for starting that trend.

Crows90595d ago

You must have missed the free astro game they gave with the PS5...it literally looks and plays just like that buy bigger in scope.

Kaii596d ago

The biggest highlight from the presentation 🤖

VenomUK595d ago

This is my most anticipated game of the year, not joking.

Relientk77596d ago

Astro's Playroom is fantastic, and this looks to be even better and bigger. Day One. I hope they keep making Astro Bot games

THIS is what we want Sony

This looks fantastic

P_Bomb596d ago

Great trailer! So much gameplay. The scope and scale of it all.

The only game I liked in the show

It's kinda odd that they're making this, but continue to ignore Jak, Knack, Sly, Mod Nation, basically all their previous mascots. Judging by all the comments here it seems there's a real demand for more colourful platformers and they just sit on all their old IPs.

VersusDMC596d ago

Astro is relatively new and they are capitalizing on the acclaim astros playroom got. But let's see if it leads to good sales.

Most of the old mascots got trilogies and the developers moved on to other things. And when insomniac goes back to their mascot(Ratchet), it doesn't really sell as well so it doesn't seem like it's in demand.

And nobody wants another knack...if they say they do, they are in it ironically or for the memes.

Inverno596d ago

@Versus
Astro Bot is a little over 10 years old, they first used him as a packed in tech demo for the PS4. Regardless if their former mascots got trilogies or not, they've let a lot of their franchises die to time, needlessly. Plus whenever games like these have come from them in the past they've always intervened enough that the games turned out worse for it. There are quite a few games that would sway me to get a PS5 that they've never bothered to bring back.

Hotpot596d ago (Edited 596d ago )

It would be odd only if Astro was made by those previous mascot’s studios, as in why would they make a new one but ignore their existing IPs.

This is made by team Asobi, it would be stranger if they took another studios IP instead of growing their own potential IP.

Besides, it’s not like Sony as a publisher has the style of condemning its studios to single mindedly make the same IPs over and over. Almost all their new flagship IPs are the results of trying new things: Horizon, Ghost of Tsushima, ND’s next new IP. Even if we stretch back in history things like TLoU and Returnal are the results of trying new things so no, I’d rather for them to keep things fresh instead of 3 decades making the same game. Don’t buy PS5 if that’s not to your style.

Good-Smurf596d ago (Edited 596d ago )

Fans will have to prove with their wallet that they cared as well. They can't keep making good smaller games that doesn't sell well or became hidden gems years after.
I kept hearing this all the time over the years with demands for return to older IPs but when Sony did just that most gamers stick to their AAA offerings and says, "why bother?" "We have Nintendo systems for those types of games" "It's 3D Mario/Kirby wannabe"

Cacabunga595d ago

Same opinion as you!
Astro has also a screaming lack of enemy variety..
a full blown Sly game on PS5 would be something!! Thieves in Time was a masterpiece.

Pepsi_Man3000595d ago

the comments here are likely just a loud minority. The majority want the same realistic and grounded games that sony puts out now. Those are the ones that sell no less than 10 million. We'd probs see more of their older stuff or games similar to them if they sold at least close to what their current exclusives sell. We can only hope this sells well enough so that asobi doesnt suffer the same fate as japan studio

I'm shocked there's still no Astrobot VR sequel. Do they want to sell headsets or not?

Abnor_Mal596d ago

They could have at least made it hybrid playable in or out of vr.

That's what I was hoping for.

A saving of $110 is nice for a bundle. These should sell well

Rainbowcookie323d ago

The problem is that retailer have imported months ago so here we won't see the pricedrop. They will sit on the stock until ps6 and then discount it.

Eonjay322d ago

If you don't mind me asking... what country are you referring to?

DivineHand125322d ago (Edited 322d ago )

This is actually a good bundle. Sony should consider doing bundles of game of the year titles at some point.

I still play Astro Bot to this date dispite playing the game at launch. A new level came out yesterday and I plan on playing it either later today after work or tomorrow morning if I have the time. I wish other studios supported their games like this and what Team Asobi is doing is showing emmence gratitude to it's fans.

jznrpg322d ago

Maybe with games like No Mans Sky and Astro Bot having legs since there is continued support more devs see the financial benefit of free updates and it becomes more common.

Destiny1080322d ago

$110 saving, that's a sweet deal

Abear21322d ago

All consoles should include a game imo, at least $20 to the store
