The first beta of Windows 7 is available for download. However, after the Vista-ready debacle, regular Windows watchers will be leery of downloading a new Microsoft OS without making absolutely sure that their PC hardware can stand the pace. PC Advisor has a free software tool that can do exactly that. Here's how to use PC Performance Monitor's Windows 7 Compatibility tool.

Microsoft announced its financial results for Q3 of fiscal year 2026, including an update on its gaming Xbox business and more.
Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.
To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Thanks to the slip-up of an artist working on the title, we now have more evidence that a new Injustice game is in the works.

Spiders: "We're going to cut straight to the chase so you're not left wondering: After a long period without clear answers, we have received confirmation that Spiders is being liquidated.
What does it mean? This means the company as a whole no longer exists. We'll cease our functions immediately. The planned DLC will release via Nacon, and then-- well, that's it.
We're sorry that it's come to this and would like to thank each and every one of you for your support over the years.
If you have any questions or run into issues with your games, please contact Nacon directly as we'll no longer be able to reply."
I heard that Microsoft was releasing a "netbook" version. I am interested in trying Windows 7 on my Eee PC 1000 but am not sure it would run 7 Ultimate. Anyone know if I would be able to run it semi-decent? I am going to upgrade to 2 GBs of RAM soon as well. I'm currently using Windows 7 with my Desktop. Outside of Internet Explorer 8 being temperamental (install Firefox right away) I am very impressed. This is coming from a beta tester of Vista whom never upgraded thereafter.
and now 7 is already in the air! I admit that Vista is not thatgreat but I'm starting to like it more than my XP! after SP1, it's getting better with all the file transfer speed and drivers support. what's the official release date for 7?
Vista is getting a SP2 to fix more bugs and add more stuff to it.
Blue screen of death!!!
