Latest Helldivers 2 update now makes going alone a kickable offense

Players are being kicked from Helldivers 2 missions for petty reasons and this is an issue that needs to be addressed by developers.

Honestly I think afk and consistent team killing should be the only triggers to being able to be kicked

Cheating, abusing the mic in any way, general trolling... There's plenty of other reasons people should get kicked out of a match. And I personally think that for objective based team focused games, not PTFOing is absolutely grounds for voting out too, although there's a difference about going cowboy and just not knowing better (but, depending on how the matchmake is for the game - no idea here, I had not played Helldivers 2 - could be a fair kick too, like if people can engage into content they have no business being in yet, that's bad multiplayer design and too bad for the noob, but no one is obligated to carry randoms)

You don't know what you're talking about. Everything you're talking about is subjective...not to mention since you haven't played it you don't really know the dynamic of when, why people are being kicked.

I got kicked after being the most productive member of the team by a leader that was ignoring materials and objectives left and right.....we're at the end of the mission after I've done all the work and he kicks me because I made a comment that it's a shame we're skipping so many easy mats. That ass got extra XP from my efforts and I got nothing.

If someone spends 30 minutes in a match they deserve to finish that match and get credit for it without some asshole kicking them for no clear or valid reason.

So yeah. In helldiver's there's some valid reasons for being kicked but if you're playing with a setting that allows people to join then that's too bad if someone joins that you feel shouldn't have. It's a good community but some bad dumb apples around.

No offense, but if you come off in voice chat the way you do over text, I can see why that happened to you.

Reminds me of the time this dude kept team killing me with careless Orbitals and Eagles. I wasn't the host, but I wouldn't have kicked him anyway. Instead, I waited until we were about to extract. The LZ was up on one of those perches with a cliff all around and just the one entrance. As the Pelican descends, I gun him down and immediately dial in his reinforcement, throwing it way off the cliff so he couldn't make it back in time. He still got his XP/samples and I got my revenge. :D

None of the reasons you mentioned are things that happen in Helldivers 2. The game is so difficult that you don't have time to fool around unless you are on a very low difficulty.

Well to be fair...I was a higher level helping lower levels and getting them easy samples, credit and medals etc...maybe the guy felt small or something.

There was no language over voice chat. I was actually the only one talking and said maybe 2 things the whole mission. No problem at all until suddenly kicked as the pelican is coming down. You don't really need to communicate much in lower difficulties

A players new reason for kicking "the random player was using a mic". It's just stupid. It should be a voting system.

That's fair. Though voting tends to have people join in because they don't care....but in a small team setting that could work well.

I think either they make it so that the person being kicked gets some XP for what's been done in the mission up to that point or they limit the ability to kick so people don't waste time in groups that'll kick you for shits and giggles.

Or the person to be kicked will still continue the mission without the other players.

The only issue I've experienced from this game is connection issues. Not being able to connect with your friends, or do quick play, or join a mission with a beacon is frustrating. It's like the game wants you to play the game solo.
