c'mon MS, show us for once that it's not just about the money.

mintaro6337d ago

MS? I thnk you mean LionHead.

Eiffel6337d ago (Edited 6337d ago )

You all do know its Lionhead who set the price, not Microsoft.

Lionhead stated they were going to charge for DLC from the start.

caladbolg7776337d ago (Edited 6337d ago )

So in this situation, it's Lionhead's fault? (LH wanted to sell the DLC vs MS who wanted it free?)
While in Braid's case, it's Microsoft's fault? (Braid's developer wanted the game to be cheaper, and its downloaded theme to be free.)

I don't buy it. Microsoft makes the rules for DLC and has full control over pricing on the Marketplace. The developers can give their input, but ultimately it is up to MS to decide. It's not free because MS doesn't want it to be.

Eiffel6337d ago (Edited 6337d ago )

Microsoft never stated anything it being free, Lionhead developers have been stating for a while now that DLC would cost. Braid however, I know for a fact only one developer wanted it to be cheaper, spoken out of course.

However, I know that Jonathan Blow stated in a interview with Gameinformer that he knew that if he were to do a next game it would involve him getting more money. I honestly think him along with a few developers decided the price. This is only my idea.

Lifendz6337d ago

then my fault on my earlier post. Usually it's MS (Epic being my past example here) that forces devs to charge for content. If the dev is charging then that's a different story.

Bob Dole6337d ago

Do maps and mods cost on XBL for UT3??? If so that's ridiculous.

Knothing ever is with them.

BRG90006337d ago

I don't know whether to hope that was a typo or a pun. Pretty pathetic either way. =P

EvilCackle6337d ago

I don't understand why there was confusion. They made the pricing - and the fact that they were releasing a free patch to coincide with Knothole Island's release - abundantly clear.

BRG90006337d ago

Yep yep, I know IGN reported this correctly months ago. It was always clear that a free patch would be added so that players don't all have to buy or not buy the DLC to continue to play together, but the new island and quests would have a price attached.

anubis126337d ago

yeah its not like sony hands out free expansions

Pennywise6337d ago

What does this have to do with Sony?

lociefer6337d ago

the resistance 1 map packs are free , psn is free , there are free mp3s in ps store , free themes, and a free show

caladbolg7776337d ago

It has nothing to do with Sony. This idiot just won't let it go. Steal his bubbles so he'll go make an anubis13 account.

Pennywise6337d ago

lol cala!!! I was wondering what the 12 was for!

sirbigam6337d ago

NipGrip6337d ago

The 7 Best Xbox 360 Games - Console Exclusives Win the Day

The Xbox 360 was a fantastic console in its day with some truly classic titles, but what are the seven best games for the console?

DrDoomer900d ago

I'm pretty used to these lists being bad, but this one is particularly s#ite.

raWfodog899d ago

I think Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon should have been added to the list.

BrainSyphoned900d ago

I'll go with,
Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon, Culdcept Saga, Shadow Complex, Ace Combat 6 with the flight stick,A Kingdom for Keflings, A World of Keflings.
Bonus Kinect Games: Happy Action Theater and Sesame Street.
*Skyrim was so bad on PS3 that it almost deserves to be #1*

Husker42c899d ago

I really loved Shadow Complex.

P_Bomb899d ago

Ah yes, Shadow Complex! Good indies back in the day. Summer of Arcade. I enjoyed Trials Evolution as well.

ChasterMies899d ago (Edited 899d ago )

Was this made by a.i.? No human being would put Shadowrun, Fable III, and Splinter Cell: Conviction into a list of the 7 best Xbox 360 games.

Abnor_Mal899d ago (Edited 899d ago )

Would love to play Ace Combat6 on PlayStation, but Xbox decided to buy exclusivity and keep it off a competing platform.

The only mainline game I never played except for one level at a friends place. Game sold less than any other in the series if I remember correctly.

darthv72899d ago

360 had Namco hitters AC6 and RR6... both quality titles. You should at least bust out the 360 for AC6 if you can score the flight stick. Its great.

Hofstaderman899d ago

When the current gen XBOX offering is so lacking people need to refer to games released two generations back....

Profchaos899d ago (Edited 899d ago )

It's a nostalgia peice same reason we get thousands of YouTube videos on sega genisis. Something people have fond memories for but the era is long gone.

It's xboxs golden year imo it was their genisis years the time where they stuck it to the market leaders Sony.

BehindTheRows898d ago

They stuck nothing. Sony screwed themselves giving Xbox an opening. They would have gotten the usual smack down if the PS3 had launched at $399 and was easier to develop for.
