it will always be beta till the end they will keep releasing stuff, but those features should of been on home when they released it

Those who love talking to and meeting with new people definitely have a blast in HOME, while those who prefer to simply do things on their own don't see the appeal of the application.

It's the same thing that happens to reviews of Single-Player games and Multiplayer games.

LOL this must be the staff of G4TV that only showed that you could sit and do a cabbage patch in home.. they never went bowling, playing pool, to the arcade, in the red bull space..etc

hell my favorite of all things, is going to the mall to find a real live person to play chess with for free...

this writer might as well make a kevin video from G4 talking about how badazz too human is..

If it does ever "go gold" (which, if you actually understood the term, you know would be flatly impossible), it won't be for a long, LONG time. Home will have that beta tag for at least a year, if not longer. I promise you that.

well, as far as the Sports Complex goes...EA will be releasing theirs this Spring, unless it gets delayed. The trophy room would've been sweet to have right now, but Home's still kewl without it at the moment, and in my opinion Home can stay in beta form forever for all I care...as long as they keep giving us the goodz.

sums up everything I feel about Microsoft, and why I will never own an xbox. I prefer to give credit to those who innovate and change the industry, not to those merely mimic, bash, cash, repeat.

I never usually comment much.

However I just have to point out some facts for you to ignore.

With Xbox 360 avatars you can play at least two games I know of:-
Scene it 2
A kingdom for Keflings

In Keflings you actually walk your avatar around and use it as the main game character. In all the mini games in home your avatar is sidelined and you enter the game, most of which are board and puzzle games.

So the first two points in your rant are wrong. You can play games with avatars and you can explore and 3d interactive space with them in Kefling's game world.

As for meeting up and talking with developers, and learning about new products. There is plenty of new product advertising in the NXE. Communication is a failing of the PSN which is playing constant catch up to Xbox live in that regard.

Dancing well you can have that one, I don't really want to dance with developers seperated by possibly thousands of miles.

Don't mistake this for an anti PS3 rant I own all three consoles. I like home and can see it's potential. I was stoked for the red bull air race, however a little disappointed in the actual race part. I thought you would be able to watch the planes flying around controlled by the players, however, it takes you into a separate instance when you fly to prevent lag.

This isn't an attack on you Apocalypse Shadow just a reminder to check facts before making us PS3 fanboys look bad.

i can see what microsoft is trying to do.have you be represented by your avatar in real games.but microsoft is asking for cash to do so.

if the point is to make me go out and buy those games just to do that,i'll pass.BUT,GOOD CALL.but in the NXE gui itself,you can do absolutely NOTHING with avatars ecept **DRESS THEM**.and HOME still beats microsoft's idea.which is a copy of sony's ideas.

Sounds good. While you're doing that, I think I'll be in Home and play a game of poker with a few friends at the free EA gamespace, wearing my free Namco gear (that I unlocked for simply playing the Namco Beta, which was also free). Maybe after that, I'll go do a few rounds of bowling (also free), or finally challenge Voozi to a game of chess at the mall (also free), have an air race at the Red Bull space (also free), or maybe I'll just play a quick game of saucer pop (also free) or hang out at my summer house and chat with a dozen or so friends (also free).

You enjoy that Uno though . . . loved playing that game on XBLA two and a half years ago.

The trophy room needs to be added REAL soon, though. That was a selling point of Home for me, and why we haven't even heard a peep from Sony about the status about that one is beyond me.

I think that the article itself is kind of lame. I don't enjoy Home that much, but I'm sure that there are people who do, so c'est la vie. I don't understand why people would compare it to NXE, since the two are completely different things. But I suppose that people need *something* to fight over.

I was kind of disappointed with the lack of 3D trophy because that was suppose to be the huge pitching point of Home. Apart from that Home is alright, its a bit empty right now, it will be fine after a year or so, when they add more stuff. One thing Sony needs to do, is have the same god damn content on all 3 regions. It annoys me the most when we still don't have Home spaces for Uncharted, Far Cry 2 etc. Plus they need to do something about the long wait for bowling or any other activities. It just takes way too long.
I know people will say well isn't it how in the real world. Well thats the point. This isn't a real world. Its a virtual world. If I have to see it as the real world, I might as well go out bowling with friends for real.

It's "our," not "are." I was never really hyped on Home, though was curious about it, since it is free. I'm not sure what it's purpose is, since the only time I get a chance to play games, I use it to play games, not walking around online. I can walk around in real life lol, but I can't shoot up enemy Warhawks!

And repeats of game content, such as Chess. The fact that there's only three chess tables in the Mall is horrible, as only 6 people can play at any given moment. And often there's over 15 people waiting in line.

Just because we're simulating real life doesn't mean we have to simulate the same problems. Create 10 chess tables, 20 bowling lanes, and 20 arcade machines. It'll help out traffic and make sure everyone who wants to play gets a chance to. And if the place feels empty, add some bots.

for all those that are asking for more of this and more of that. it won't happen. why? because Sony will eventually offer these up for download at a price and by making it difficult to play pool tables and Arcade machines (because of queueing) they will encourage people to want them in their apartments. Sony is a business after all. get used to it and enjoy what is there because Red Bull and EA have already shown the potential.
