Hi-Fi Rush physical editions announced

Hi-Fi Rush Twitter: "We've heard the crowd, and we're collaborating with Limited Run Games on PHYSICAL EDITIONS of Hi-Fi RUSH for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5!"

Nyxus830d ago

Pentiment as well: https://twitter.com/Limited...

Now that the games are ported they are finally getting physical versions. Here's hoping the same thing will happen with Hellblade II.

darthv72830d ago (Edited 830d ago )

that one (HB2) may come from MGS themselves. LRG is doing the others.

neomahi829d ago

That's what it takes to get a physical release? Sad.....

1Victor830d ago

Well they know PlayStation players like physical games more than digital 🤷🏿 and they want all the money they can get from PlayStation 🤑

Deeeeznuuuts830d ago

Was just thinking the same 😂

1Victor829d ago

I’m going to buy it physical just for the landmark occasion and as a bonus to see what the hardcore apologist defense force say when others buy it as well 🤣

darthv72830d ago

perhaps... if only it were MS doing it instead of LRG.

Christopher830d ago

It's a partnership. LRG exists for these things, which is good for us and good for Microsoft since it offsets costs for them and makes it more likely for them to do it rather than just stick to digital. I mean, yes, optimal would be physical for all $30+ game release, but at least there's this.

Kiryu1992830d ago

When Ms sees how much extra revenue they can generate just from these games on PlayStation and Nintendo they will have no choice but to port more games

Xbox division may not want to buy MS will see the potential

Inverno830d ago

Well there ya go. I wish these guys would start making physical PC versions too, I do miss those cardboard boxes.

Skuletor829d ago

Remember how ridiculously big the boxes were in the 90s and early 2000s? The Alien vs Predator 2 box was one of my favorites because the cover art was all bumpy instead of flat.

"We've heard the crowd" translates to Xbox fans would have been mega pi**ed at Xbox with playstation and Nintendo getting physical versions.
Nothing to do with we've heard the crowd BS.

darthv72830d ago

MS had no intentions of putting these games on media... it was all LRG wanting to do it. they had to go to XGS and get approval and in doing so are offering up XB versions as well. Otherwise they wouldnt even make XB discs and only make Switch and PS ones.

LRG can go kick rocks for all i care. Cant stand their business model of taking someone elses work and selling it themselves. They used to do their own thing but now they just make glorified reproductions.

dumahim829d ago (Edited 829d ago )

They're not taking anything. They're licensing the right to do it. Just like you purchase the license to download and play your games.
Where's your complaints about Steam taking other people's work and selling it?

shinoff2183829d ago

They aren't doing that though. All they are is a middle man. They've personally have gotten a shit ton of physical releases released. I applaud that myself. I'm not sure if it's changed or not but off the physical releases the contracts were 70 percent developers 30 percent lrg. Seems fair to me considering some of these devs didn't plan on releasing physically or couldn't afford it. Far as I remember lrg also takes the initial cost. If it bombs then lrg is at a loss.

Now it seems everything is pre order which I prefer anyway. Everyone gets a chance.

Idk know why you can't stand this company but I've seen them as a breath of fresh air especially they've sort of started a physical resurgence imo.

Hi-Fi RUSH physical edition pre-orders open January 16

Pre-orders for the long-awaited physical edition of Hi-Fi RUSH will go live via Limited Run Games from January 16 to March 1, the distributor announced.

LucasRuinedChildhood146d ago (Edited 146d ago )

Even though I buy almost everything digitally, I kind of feel like buying this just because they might patch the game someday due the music licensing issues, and use the "streamer mode" as a backup.

That existing has always seemed a bit too convenient to me. haha. This is one of my favourite games. Have never bought anything from Limited Run Games due to their poor reputation though.

GamerRN146d ago

Hopefully it's gotten a next Gen upgrade, because I would love to go finish this one

Blastoise146d ago (Edited 146d ago )

Limited Run Games can crash and burn. I still remember when they fired someone for following conservative accounts and being excited for Hogwarts Legacy. And they take a year and a half to ship their trash products anyway

Killer2020UK146d ago

Link please, always worth backing up claims like this with evidence otherwise it descends into a shouting match.

jznrpg146d ago (Edited 146d ago )

I’ve bought many games over the years from them. The only delays I’ve seen is from the developers because Limited Run puts the full game on disc and devs had DLC they wanted printed with the game. I don’t buy every game so I can’t speak for every release but the games I have bought always show up during the general time frame they have stated. They’re not a perfect company like any other but I do like some of the games they offer that otherwise wouldn’t get a physical copy.

badz149145d ago

that's way more reasonable than I though. I might give it a go

northpaws146d ago

I kinda don't want to get this one because the studio is gone, so none of the money will go to the people that deserve it.

fan_of_gaming145d ago

Tango Gameworks isn't gone, Krafton bought them from Microsoft

LucasRuinedChildhood145d ago

I think the terms of service changed to Krafton instead of Bethesda in-game, and the money would be going to Tango.
