The Verge writes: "The Verge has obtained a copy of the memo. It’s the first time Spencer has fully outlined a new strategy “where every screen is an Xbox” to employees, after an internal town hall meeting earlier this month didn’t address multi-platform games directly."

Microsoft announced its financial results for Q3 of fiscal year 2026, including an update on its gaming Xbox business and more.
Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.
To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Thanks to the slip-up of an artist working on the title, we now have more evidence that a new Injustice game is in the works.

Spiders: "We're going to cut straight to the chase so you're not left wondering: After a long period without clear answers, we have received confirmation that Spiders is being liquidated.
What does it mean? This means the company as a whole no longer exists. We'll cease our functions immediately. The planned DLC will release via Nacon, and then-- well, that's it.
We're sorry that it's come to this and would like to thank each and every one of you for your support over the years.
If you have any questions or run into issues with your games, please contact Nacon directly as we'll no longer be able to reply."
I try to take my xbox everywhere... https://i.imgur.com/4qmZcJd... does that count?
And I did also just get a logitech g-cloud for easier remote play & cloud streaming. Between that and my portable S and my steam deck... I really can play anywhere.
"A future where every screen is an Xbox." - Phil Spencer
Microsoft had no multiplatform games. Then bought developers like Mojang that had a multiplatform game because of easy profits from it's popularity. Then, buys up multiplatform 3rd party publishers that have popular selling franchises on mobile, console and PC. Then invests in Dev kits to become a multiplatform publisher. But the goal is still cloud gaming.
"Anytime, anywhere and any screen" was in the leaked 720 roadmap. DRM 2013. Can't do that without going multiplatform.

Play anywhere is just the same cloud gaming, multiplatform initiative on phones, consoles and PC. Always online,24 hour check-ins, no resell thinking. But they can't get there yet so they are going for the next best thing of being a multiplatform publisher until they can gather enough followers to then introduce it when their infrastructure is complete. You don't buy Dev kits to just release 4 games. You ready yourself to release multiple titles.
But no one has forgotten where they really want to be: Paid streaming service for gamers backed by a paid service for developers with cloud and azure.
Even though Microsoft has received an ass whooping again and again , they still see the prize of introducing cloud gaming on their azure servers.
No matter how they describe multiplatform with anywhere, anytime and any screen, the rose is still a rose. Multiplatform publisher until they can stream to any device and introduce DRM 2013 2.0. You need hardware to sell software no matter how the company or its fans spin it. Microsoft is just no longer confident in their own hardware sales to reach the masses. They want to use everyone else's hardware to reach them.
when will phil announce more PS5 games
waiting patiently for E3
“Xbox everywhere” unfortunately everywhere like the COVID virus.
