Why do VR studios keep releasing such garbage? Firewall Ultra for PSVR 2 was another and now the studio has closed.

Because some of these developers still think it's like the early days where VR players will buy or try anything to experience the immersion. But a lot of us caught wind early that some of the games were terrible, broken or less deep than a half a cup of water just by looking at the trailer, watching the review or purchasing the games when they became cheap and finding out how shallow something was that wouldn't even make PS1 release.

It's like they know we want deeper and complete games without issues like GT7, RE4, RE8, Astrobot, Blood and Truth, etc. Even smaller indie games are ok like Moss, Red Matter, etc. It just has to be made well. We want QUALITY. And the developers should be working out the kinks well before ever selling their games to the public.

The days when games had testers before release needs to come back real quick with all these broken games at launch. Not just in VR. In general. We don't want to be the testers fixing their game through buying it.

Don’t forget about the bait and switchers, who sell you on the idea you’re getting a full game only to find out all you’re getting is six missions in vr.

Yeah Mal. Like Aces of Thunder. It went from a "I'm interested." To a "you guys can forget my purchasing the game." Namco was lucky that I like Ace Combat the series and can play it flat. But that measly 3 missions was a downer. But I wasn't so upset as I bought the physical disc for $15 brand new.

I'm at the point now that if they don't port something deep or create something deep, I just won't buy and will play what I currently have and retro games. I want new experiences. But they better be worth it and work out the box.

I don't work in video games but I do work in software. Triaging severity of issues is a standard there. Maybe not in the video games industry?..

Sounds like another case of "lowest common denominator" porting to multiple systems.
