Why did Capcom raise the prices on this game? It is a cult classic at best with ok sales. They should have done it on RE4.

Now Dragon's Dogma 2 has to deal with the 70$ backlash articles for when a developer releases their first 70$ game.

I've been waiting for this game for over 10 years and the trailers look incredible, pretty much everything I ever wanted. I don't care if its $100.

Normally I wait for sales. But ive wanted DD2 for years. This is a day one purchase for me.

I can wait years until I buy a game, It isn't going anywhere. I recommend people do the same. However the cynical take would be that this is also a push to make people take on subscriptions by pricing individual purchases out of the market. That being said if you run the numbers most people only buy 5-10 games a year and not at full retail. That still works out better than paying for continued subscription access long term.

It's funny to see everyone now express concern for high price tags on games and now giving out advice to wait for price drops or sales weeks or months later, way after an initial release.

I remember the slogan "support the dev" not long ago as some type of clap back when gamers would express how they would wait for games to appear on Game Pass.

Now it's time to wonder if services are actually a good thing to subscribe to considering how expensive everything is and how little you get.

Well, 79.99 and 89.99 are now the standard prices for us here living in Canada.

What the point in buying single player games (often half broken)at full price day one when you can wait a promotion at 50% one month or two later.

The average game prices for here in Australia is roughly between $90 to $100 dollars, and it has been this way since the PS2 era.

Probably the biggest debate in the gaming, the price of games. But even consoles and controllers etc. have been at eye watering prices for X amount of years now. I was there when Mega Drive and Super Nintendo games clocked in at £50+. Older gamers will remember games on tapes for under £10 (Commodore 64 and Spectrum etc.). Moving to consoles, games clocked in at £30+. Nintendo 64 games topped £70 in the late 1990s. Still, if you think these prices are worth it, crack on. Few people have mentioned playing a backlog of games and let prices stew for a while until they drop in price. Some people wait until a console generation has ended then they jump in and pick it all up cheap. It's pushing it going over £40 and you tend to find Nintendo's games don't really drop in price much (Switch games). Been at this lark for around 40 years. It's worth sitting back and let games drop it price.

Capcom raising prices figured it would happen was just wondering when. I just want more info on Pragmata I am hyped for that game but its like it fell off the radar after it was announced.

Translation: Wait for Capcom sales slightly longer starting with Dragon's Dogma 2.

Frankly, $69.99 is fair but give us a sweet pre-order deal...not just the base game.

Single player games like this are worth it imo. The first game gave me a ton of play time.
