I have a PS1 with the attachable screen and a PS3 Fat I play my PS1 games on and they play just as well as any other device. I do wish I could pop them in my PS5 though so I only had one console out plus I love the feel of Dualsense but I do enjoy them on the old PS1 about the same as the game means the most to me. Remakes are a bit different but even games with remakes I like to play the old versions still.
PS 1-5 have been the best place to play, other platforms are second or third best options.
I always find games like Tomb Raider, GTA, Crash, Spyro, Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Final Fantasy and so on better on the PS because it's where I first started playing them. It's a nostalgia thing.
That gen was atrocious for 3D games. No game on PlayStation and Saturn looked any good. Shaking polygons and dodgy gameplay. Some games okay, but not many.
