Game Rant writes: "Target has seemingly started to downsize its physical gaming Xbox section, reflecting the trend of retailers adapting their distribution strategies for gaming due to a downtrend in physical game sales."

Microsoft announced its financial results for Q3 of fiscal year 2026, including an update on its gaming Xbox business and more.
Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.
To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Thanks to the slip-up of an artist working on the title, we now have more evidence that a new Injustice game is in the works.

Spiders: "We're going to cut straight to the chase so you're not left wondering: After a long period without clear answers, we have received confirmation that Spiders is being liquidated.
What does it mean? This means the company as a whole no longer exists. We'll cease our functions immediately. The planned DLC will release via Nacon, and then-- well, that's it.
We're sorry that it's come to this and would like to thank each and every one of you for your support over the years.
If you have any questions or run into issues with your games, please contact Nacon directly as we'll no longer be able to reply."
if xbox stuff at target doesnt sell aswell, of course they're gonna downsize that section.
this is more a consequence of low demand of that particular thing, than "low demand of physical games" in general.
Tbh I’d never buy a physical Xbox game. Ps5 or Switch all the time, but not Xbox.
The thing that suck about Microsawft, beside being a garbage company that doesn't pay their fair share of Taxes and is also evading the little they do pay, is that you can play all the original Xbox and Xbox360 games on the Series X. Which is outstanding!! And better yet, you can use emulation and play PS1 and PS2 games on it as well. Which is shocking.
Too bad Microsawft is not only a garbage company, that also wanted to take away such a nice perk as free Game Pass for their employees, but it absolutely suck at the whole Video Games thing. Even with their bottomless pockets.
Even when spending all that money to be allowed to buy everything they still manage to fart out games like Starfield. Which is nothing more than a Dollar General Brand compared to an already watered down Bethesda game like Skyrim.
Shocking!...But not really.
Microsawft, just like Nintendo, are best left as Third Party Developers. The industry should be Sony, Sega, Panasonic, Philips and Atari.
Fight me...
I think GamePass plus a general shift towards digital would reflect this. It would be interesting to see, percentage wise of non game pass games, how much a game shifts physical vs digital between xbox and playstation in terms of actual units and percentages. Im curious to see the split as it may clue into buying habits of xbox vs playstation players
That game pass effect in full force.
