I'm havin trouble getting the download started. I think this might not be fully operation JUST yet.

Voozi6346d ago

It's because there's thousands or even more people trying to download it at once, so servers are getting hammered like crazy lol

DavidMacDougall6346d ago

Was going to write the same thing

Fishy Fingers6346d ago (Edited 6346d ago )

What even when Windows 7 launches? Unless you have a seriously weak PC, why?

Eiffel6346d ago

Honestly to me it does not matter what type of OS I'm using
Linux, Windows, Apple.

They still process the same activities I do on any normal computer.

Browse Internet when bored.
Photoshop
Manage my site.

I don't really need a "top of the line" OS or computer to perform these actions. I leave gaming to my consoles.

DavidMacDougall6346d ago

All there going to do with this is force it on people same as vista. I'll stick to XP until all the bugs are ironed out

Fishy Fingers6346d ago

Fair enough guys, I wasnt trying to knock you or XP. But Windows 7 is going to be a BIG step up from Vista. I think maybe you should at least have a look at a later date, you might be surprised by the performance/look.

DavidMacDougall6346d ago

From there track record i never buy anything these release right away until its fixed and im hoping to completely skip Vista

Eiffel6346d ago (Edited 6346d ago )

I have Vista installed on my work computer. No Problems.

Windows 7 looks and reminds me of XP only slightly. I'll for sure try it but not until the future when the product releases. I will just stop by my local electronics store and find a computer with the software pre-installed, and enjoy it from there.

Only then will I consider. I'm just use to XP.

hfaze6346d ago

Sticking with XP is good and all, but I'm running Windows 7 build 7000 and all I can say is that I'm IMPRESSED.

Take into consideration that I'm a hardcore Linux buff...

Windows 7 is what Windows Vista SHOULD have been when it launched. It is a HUGE improvement over Vista, and I can honestly say that I would take Windows 7 over Windows XP.

Windows 7 is worth checking out. The boot/shutdown times are improved vastly over Vista, and dare I say a tad snappier than XP. Application compatibility is great so far, and the addition of driver updates in Windows Updates is a WELCOME change.

evrfighter6346d ago

theres no reason to. 7 is being proven to be faster than xp and vista.

Fishy Fingers6346d ago (Edited 6346d ago )

eh? There is no Windows 7 Beta Download link there? I'm just getting the Windows homepage.

Voozi6346d ago

Is that the 32 bit or 64 bit one? ~ I'm looking for 64 bit :3

badkolo6346d ago

that link worked perfectly, thanks, bypassed the waiting and i got it.

Gam716346d ago (Edited 6346d ago )

Works, thanks.
Is it 64bit?

Fishy,

right click on the link and choose copy link or copy link location depending on your broswer.

Paste in the address bar and voila.
If you click on it you'll go to the home page.
I'm in England.

Fishy Fingers6346d ago (Edited 6346d ago )

Where are you guys getting the link from? Where is the DL?

I get a quick look at the Windows 7 DL page then it jumps straight to the homepage.

Omega66346d ago

@ Fingers, copy the link and paste it into a new window

Fishy Fingers6346d ago

Ignore all that, did a restart, tried IE rather than Firefox and it worked a treat.

Cheers dude. +1

Elvfam5116346d ago

FragMnTagM6346d ago

Gam716346d ago (Edited 6346d ago )

Omega66346d ago

Because there always be one. Frankly, on n4g im not surprised.

Voozi6346d ago

Hey you guys know if we need a key for this after the 30 days?

Omega66346d ago (Edited 6346d ago )

@Voozi
I dont think we need a key, however I do know that the beta expires August 1st 09

Fishy Fingers6346d ago (Edited 6346d ago )

Voozi, yeah, you'll need a code (after 30 days), UNLESS you use a crack to remove it.

Working, virus free crack: http://www.mininova.org/tor...

^Also removes the watermark.

St06346d ago

St06346d ago (Edited 6346d ago )

how do i know wheather to get the 32 bit or 64 bit for my computer heres its specs 4 gb ram 280 gb hd 2 ghz processor and 64 bit operating system right now which one would it run better though?

Voozi6346d ago

You want the 64 bit version, windows 32 bit won't detect all 4gb of your ram, it'll only get like 3.25gb, a 64 bit os will allow Windows to detect & utilize all 4+ gigs of ram, so go with 64 bit

FragMnTagM6346d ago

Like Voozi said, if you get the 32 bit version you will only be able to use up to 3gb of your ram. Oh and Windows 7 is supposed to run a hell of a lot smoother than xp or vista. Not only on the ram, but installing it and surfing internet, as well as many other things been looking forward to this.

dragunrising6346d ago (Edited 6346d ago )

I'm not sure whether to get the 64 bit version either. I have 32 bit XP. My machine specs are:

GM5088
AMD Athlon (tm) 64 X2 Dual
Core Processor 4600+
2.41 GHz, 1.87 GB of RAM

Also of note I have the Media Center Edition, ver 2002. I have never been a big PC gamer...with a decent graphics card could I get into the game?

Thanks guys/girls
