Maybe Microsoft (and Sony, for that matter) should work with what they have, rather than buy out more studios? The last thing this industry needs is to be swallowed up by just a couple of bigger companies. Creativity will be stifled competition will be killed off.

heres the thing, they need results now. they need games now. cause people are getting more pissed by the day. because there is just no reason to own an xbox and those who bought it hoping that games would come, are pissed.

I'm a big fan of Harebrained Scheme but i'm not sure i'm into the idea of Microsoft aquiring them.

Saying that, their story and character writing is bloody amazing, I think they would fit Sony better.

I'm still waiting for f*cking games from their initially acquired studios like Ninja Theory that showed a game back when the Xbox Series X was first announced. In fact, let's see the games from all the bajillion studios they have now before we go on about the next acquisition.

MSXB doesn't need anymore studios, they have more they enough. Concentrate on what they already have.

How about no? This talk should be reviled. However "easy clicks" will always win out. Let devs be. Indie devs should be the ones who get to decide if they go full allegiance or not, otherwise it makes the "independent" part redundant.

Think bigger. The fact that Nintendo is not a direct competitor to either Microsawft or Sony, it makes it all the more obvious as to whom Micro should acquire next. And that is Sony of course. Then everything else not named Nintendo.

Can you imagine how diverse the industry would be then with Microsawft on one hand and Nintendo on the other? The most diverse the industry has ever been for sure. Not only are gamers gonna be gaming in a new Golden Age but workers will be well respected and taken care of with fair wages and an amazing work/life balance.

I'm not sure they would work out. If anything I'd like to see Paradox get a boost. HS that made Battletech is great and all but you really need Roughtech to make it what it is today. I don't see MS getting games like that which really only are playable on PC only.

Microsoft has enough studios. I was really hoping for them to acquire Mistwalker and make a sequel to Lost Odyssey

Tell me again how the multiplatform strategy was supposed to fix everything. Look at your results and compare them to Nintendo, which keeps thriving with exclusives. Your loyal fans are gone. And let’s not forget the pile of IPs you purchased only to let them rot.

The worst thing is this is down from last years numbers/expectations which was down from the previous years numbers/expectations. You think about how long “down” has been a consistent part of the communication and you realize those subscriptions are what’s holding that boat together. The price cut of gamespass is still a price raise in a string of price raises. They are trying to use players to offset the missing revenue. Now call of duty is out of gamespass, which is literally WHY they bought the company. To draw people to the subscription. They realized they missed a boatload of money and that wasn’t sustainable. Now you pay for it like you would have if they never bought the company… so why buy the company? Mind you those billions still need to be paid back. Yeah it gives you a chance to say we make the biggest FPS… but the internal conversations must be brutal at high level on topics that really matter. Like revenue. Profitability. And ROI for the shopping spree.
