LOL, at GDC last year, an Xbox 360 bit the dust in the same fashion, and and now the infamous hardware failure strikes again at yet another Tech. Event. All I have to say is Thank You Sony for making reliable hardware time and time again and not rushing the PS3 out to the market.

That they would bring a Jasper model to the show seeing as Microsoft has a history of failing 360s at shows. Personally, I think that IS a Jasper model, since all companies bring NEW products to show off. My point? Damn, even the new ones get red-ringed. Full, half, quarter, don't matter. 3 years in and still getting it, damn. That's a shame.

As embarrassing as this is for Microsoft, and is BIG TIME. The fact that Sony is getting hammered by this product coming off last generation when they completely dominated the industry is more telling of Sony's failures with the PS3 this generation.

I guess in the end you can't issue a warranty to fix Sony's problems can you?

So let me get this straight we all know that if not provided enough air flow the 360 will over heat? Why is this an article. Oh that's right to give PS3 fan boys another " oh look it's a RROD, neat lets blog about it" Everyone who posted writing "we waited to make a good product", is lame as hell. The thing over heated because of poor air flow.

Every convention I've been to has at least one 360 RRoD. Convention displays are set up to be as compact and space efficient as possible, and that almost always means stuffing the 360 into a tight space with little ventilation.

I think the REAL story is how Microsoft continually fails to realize they need to let the 360 have some circulation, or it's going to red ring and end up all over the Internet.

Just hope that with the new Jasper model MS haven't changed 3 red lights to 2! Null on all warranties eh?

well it is an improvement still they went to 3 red rings to 2 rings. but i hate when people say its a user error when your 360 overheats or gets the rrod cause it doesn't get enough air flow bull crap. just face it that the 360 has hardware problems. I mean why cant it be in the same place as were the ps3 goes and not overheat.

Let's clear one thing out first. if you get RROD you're basicly screwed. If you get "Yellow light of death" (worst comeback of a mean name to the ps3 ever) you can fix it, you're console ain't screwed then.

I've said it before, I'll say it again, apparently the only way M$'s inept technichans can stop RRoD is to physically remove the red lights from the console.

What on earth possessed them to put a "I'm broken" light in the thing without check it wouldn't get used that much.

You have the jet engine fan and the sub par DVD drives adding up to a bad package.

My brothers 360 gets the infamous Disc Read Error because of the sub par DVD drive. He had to install Fifa 09 since he got annoyed with getting that error now and then, messing up his online play.

It also makes it a pain to watch DVDs on the system. DVDs that function without error in a normal DVD player will get the DRE and make it impossible to watch a whole movie through...

i have had one xbox since may 06. my brother plays it non stop since we've gotten it. hrs upon hrs and its never RROD and of the 50 something ppl i know with a 360 only one has gotten it. *shrugg*

I'm tired of hearing about games causeing the RROD.1st the problem with the RROD is getting less and less.2nd,i have every game that people said cause the RROD and i never had any problem.

Ps3 fanboys need to remember that sony was sued over the defect in the hard drive in the ps2 and they lost.Sony was trying to deny that the hard drive had a defect in it when they knew the whole time it did.I'm also tired of hearing from ps3 fanboys on how microsoft screwed people with a 360 because they gave us a 3 year warrinty.The fact is sony only gave a 2 month warrinty on the ps2 because of the defected hard drive.If microsoft screwed the people because they gave a 3 year warrinty.Then sony must have made people eat sh*t with a 2 month warrinty.The fact is Every one i knew had to buy at least 2 in less then 3 years.I had to buy 4 in 5 years because of it.I'm not saying it was bad as the 360 because it wasn't but sony screws up to.

The reason that he's saying the ps3 is more expensive is because of BR.hell i have a 60in lcd,5.1 bose surround sound system i paid $2500,dvd player,A remote that has an lcd screen on it that i paid $300 for,and over a 1000 dvds.I'm saying what i paid for my equipment because i'm tired of stupid a** kids saying that we have a 360 because we can't afford a ps3.When i bought my 360 i pain $400 for it and the other one i bought for christmas i paid $400 for so don't say that i'm to poor to buy a ps3.The reason i don't buy a ps3 is because sony is screwing America.

Ok, 360 is officially the worst built gaming system ever!! I can't believe how horribly this system was built?
I mean come on people. Whether you love 360 or PS3 doesn't matter. You have to agree that 360 was put together horribly!
I still have my original working NES system. After all the years of it getting beat down, blowing into it repeatedly, being left on for weeks at a time...all types of abuse, and it still works everytime!!
But a $400 machine that's treated as delicately as a glass vase...wiped down, cleaned, kept in a well ventilated are, all the things you can do to baby it, and it still just decides to take a crap on you?? That's unacceptable!
I don't personally own a 360 for that reason. I have tons of friends with the 360 and more than half of them are on a second or third replacement system! I would be PISSED if that was me. But luckily I went with Sony. I have my original 60Gb launch system that works just beautifully.
As far as the CES show mishap for 360, I don't care whether it was a RROD or just a RR of overheat or whatever.
All it points out to me is that this is a system i don't want to own, because it's just not RELIABLE enough. When i turn on my system that i paid my hard earned money for I want it to work!!

Well I own 2 360s, they BOTH see many hours a day of gaming and never an issue. This game is going to be fun no matter what idiotic articles and sony clones try to say.

My friend bought his xbox in Feb 2008, and it just broke a few days ago. It didn't even last one year. I can see a lot more xbox consols RROD by the time Killzone 2 comes out. They just wouldn't be able to handle the competition.

This is so stupid, 2 red lights is from overheating: probably because the 360 was in a SEALED PLASTIC CASE to stop disc theft; go put ANY piece of electronics equipment in a sealed box, run it for 30+ hours straight and see what happens......come on people, is this really front page news? Lame....

Who puts infinite above CE? CE was revolutionary when it came out and STILL plays well today. The level design is great (even if there’s too many repeating hallways but that’s a product of the time), excellent AI and not to mention, it has the most balanced legendary setting out of the entire series. They got it right the first time.
