I havnt commented on anything at N4G for the longest time but this really got my attention

Summer 2008 was basically just 360 bashing, since the PS3 got MGS4 and had some other big games coming out later that year, plus it was selling better against the 360. Pretty much every day was something bashing the 360 (and the RROD stuff never seems to get old). Then the 360 got a price cut, sales went through the roof, LBP didn't sell as well as it should have (It's still not really, 1.3Million sales? That game deserves 10x that and I'm a 360 fan!) and suddenly it's time to bash the hell out of the PS3.
Give it a few weeks, when KZ2 is released and PS3 sales spike again, it'll be back to 360 bashing with 2009 becoming the "Year of the PS3".
Honestly, as someone who owns both consoles and is happy with both, the stupid b*tching, fighting, flaming and bashing really gets on my nerves, the only way it'll stop is when the diehard console fanboys get it into their thick, testosterone-fuelled heads that neither console is "Loosing", both are great, selling well and set to make a profit for both their owners. No matter which one you own, you'll have a great system and wont be disappointed now or in the future.

I wish we could set all the stupid bickering and flaming aside and just get back to playing the games we love.

Sony absolutely dominated this industry until this generation...like it or not...it created a 'cool' thing to do; bash Sony whenever possible...as it was never taken seriously in the past (people DESPERATELY tried when the PS2 released, claiming the DC to be better in every way...in fact the comparisons between the last to generations are very similar)...

it doesn't matter...Sony isn't going anywhere...they definitely are not the force this generation that they used to be...but are still offering the best content imo, and definitely have a console with a shat ton of potential, of which it is just starting to capitalize on...

whats funny is what happens next month...just like late 2007 (PS3 is fecked) changing to early 2008 (the king is all kinds of back)...it will happen all over again...killzone 2 will wreck competitors offerings...more and more footage of HR and a release date will follow after...GoW III will be shown more, and Uncharted given a firm November release, as well as GT5 hopefully...these 4 titles will 100% prove the PS3's potential and completely end the visual debate between the two consoles...the big games from Capcom will sell extremely well on the PS3...and Sony will finally cut the price in line with the 360 pro...possibly announce it at the Super Bowl...

maybe not all of that...but once again...the ball is back in Sony's court starting out the year...maybe this year Sony will take matters a little more aggressively...maybe not...either way...2009 will most likely end in a similar fashion if they don't...

it will never be the console brand of choice for gamers worldwide any time soon...so it annoys the heck outta me when MS or the media portrays it as a leader...MS has a hellava lot of ground to accomplish before it is seen on the level of Sony and Nintendo...so to MS...accomplish at least ONE of the milestones that Sony and Nintendo have in the gaming world...and until then, show some respect to the brands who have done some REAL SH!T...

N4G is not as good as it used to be... There are way too many fanboys that have nothing but hate to spread. I hate seeing spam articles about console wars and comparing games like apples and oranges. Why can't people look at the positive aspects of both sides of an argument. If the argument is moot, then just move on and ignore it instead of rushing to fanboyish defense.

I own both systems and come to N4G a lot. there seems to be anywhere from 3-4 articles a day that questions whether PS3 will survive....it's all BS too.

The PS3 is #3, but the sales are not all that bad...nor are the titles sales. It's definitely not dying! I think these articles are pretty much BS. Also they are all opinions. Opinions are like as......ohh...nevermind.

It's the start of new year we have at least a few weeks of slow news. Next week will probably be filled with Killzone 2 hype articles which then are followed by Killzone sucks articles and when the December NPD numbers come out back to console sales numbers articles.

Game "console wars" have been around for a long time....but it was never as bad as this.
Let me inform you people as to why it is like this now. It's simple. Anyone who contributes to this "console" war is doing it for one reason only. Money. And who buys into it? 5-15 year olds and the occasional pathetic 30 year old pedo. Its become a market to light up these pathetic "hardcore" gamer babies who find some sort meaning in their lives at the moment and it actually pays off. And who most of all has made it their market to do this type of thing? Microsoft. Microsoft since the beginning has put itself directly against the ps3, which is fine, thats what they should do. But the manner in which they do so by making these kids think that they belong to a brand is just downright pathetic. True gamers see the bigger picture and frankly just stay away. 90% of internet arguments on the console war topic is just two losers trying to prove themselves when they both lose in reality. whats annoying is doom and gloom articles 46,000 times a day. Why can't people just be happy that we live in an age of awesome technology? HDTV, Blu Ray, 3D movies, 3D tv's, 3D games (soon?) and so on... Like I really don't understand it tbh. I'm happy with my purchases of game machines, I enjoy them almost every night after a day of work. I enjoyed Mario as a kid, but games like Bioshock remind me of how amazing technology truly is.

I don't see why everyone cares how many consoles are sold really, we make no profit off it....

This gen hasn't been the best for games, last gen consoles are still out there and now there's been talk of the PS6 and Xbox Two for a year or so. Many games this gen will be ported to next gen and the cycle will continue. The re-release of the Neo Geo AES+, games on cartridge for £70 ($95), gaming is going back in time. Gaming has gone pricing mad with the high cost of games, consoles and controllers. The men and women at the top are clueless.

I miss the first three generations of PlayStation. The way they turned PS3 around, we knew they meant business. We were all worried for a bit there around launch. Eventually from 2008 they started shifting slowly. But since Yoshida was fired, it's never been the same. Still enjoy my PS5 daily. I got a backlog dating back to PS2 lol So I'm fine but new games aren't as appealing anymore.

It seems like we were thrown on to the worst timeline possible where everything is too expensive and the wrong people were put in positions that makes the world a shitty place. We could have had Shu as the head of PS but we got the shitty alternative. Same goes for everyone in power around the world. Doesn’t matter the company or country the majority of us got the shitty picks and the world is declining like never before. I do think PS can come out of this because of their studios, talent and IP but they need someone more in touch with gamers leading things like Shu was. They’re still the best place for console gaming imo but it could be much better than it is especially without the massive live service failures. The rest of the world I have a lot less hope for right now. Hopefully the pendulum swings back towards the good ole days but I’m preparing for the worst.

There's another guy who recently "retired" as CEO of another large gaming company, after doing a dismantling job as lead for well over a decade.

seems legit, the business man, fires the one who has ideas to move the business forward.

Jim Ryan is the reason why we are entering year 6 since the PS5 launch and many of us don't feel like the PS5 has gotten started as yet.

I hope going forward, we will see a return to form.
