Still a shame about being digital only. Another game I would've supported at full price , now I'll support it on a cheap sale. General rule no digital purchases over 20 dollars

VersusDMC849d ago

Infinite wealth has physical in the west and while Gaiden doesn't have physical in the west you can get a physical asia copy that has an English option from playasia

shinoff2183849d ago

Thank you so much versus, I wasn't aware of that and tbh I thought they were the same, just being called different names sort of like how I still call it yakuza even though they dropped it

CrimsonWing69849d ago

My god this looks absolutely fantastic!!! Can’t wait!

andy85849d ago

Oh jeez 2 massive like a dragon games released in 2 months 😂 I hope there isn't burnout. Absolutely love this series

RhinoGamer88849d ago

Day one for me, the Like a Dragon design pivot really grabbed my undivided attention.

Let's try that GOTY then. Thx Sony.

Redgrave2d ago

Sigh.

I just tune in for the classics, and this drip fed release system is killing me. At least more than 1... please?

Also, Ridge Racer? Thanks, I guess.... hope it has trophies at least.

Puty2d ago

It is Namco, so 100% no trophies.

Levii_922d ago

Yeah i know the release system is so terrible, it’s way too slow. I’m not subscribed anymore ever since the price increase and i wont be until there are many more of the classics available.

I might subsribe for a month if Dino Crisis 2 and the Medal of Honor games come to premium in the near future though.

LucasRuinedChildhood2d ago

Better to just buy and own them, tbh.

Puty2d ago

That's the secret: i only upgrade at the end of my yearly Extra for maybe one or two months, to play classics that would interest me or for them easy plats.
Tekken 2 and 3 I'd bought.

VersusDMC1d 11h ago

Keep in mind that if you bought the ps1 classics back in the day you get the new versions for free. I got dino crisis, re2 and re3 even though I'm not subscribed to anything.

So if you bought Dino Crisis 2 back then check before you subscribe when the new version comes out.

Redgrave1d 15h ago

Okay, who is disagreeing and why? Are you content with drip fed classics that are mostly mid to less than mid selections? Some without trophies?

Ape Escape 2 still hasn't been patched to fix the issues it has running on PS5, and while I certainly don't expect ONLY banger releases, when they randomly come out with good ones like SkyGunner and Jeanne D'arc... trophyless Ridge Racer 1 doesn't exactly hit any high notes especially for nostalgia because it's not aged well. Not everyone are playing the classics for trophies, but it certainly does breathe new life into these older titles imo.

It could be better and especially for the price of the tier to receive them "without paying", this is sadly comedic that we only receive 1 title a month typically instead of 2, or even 3 (one for PS1, PS2, and PSP).

Eonjay1d 15h ago

Sony's classic catalog is pretty bad. It should be twice its size. At least , probably 3x the size. They are taking the square Enix approach where they wait so long to give their audience what they want that most of their fans are dying/dead. They are chasing failure with this one and there is no one in leadership with the balls to succeed. Thats how I feel about their classics program.

Dexterio1d 14h ago (Edited 1d 14h ago )

The disagrees come from the fanboys who believe Sony can do no wrong. sigh.
And you're right about the classics, I only play them for the trophies. At this rate, i'd rather downgrade to the Extra tier the next time I resub. Premium my a$$.

got_dam1d 13h ago

You said something less than glowing about someone's favorite box. Does not matter if it's true or not. The tribalism demands pushback.

Nailrat1d 12h ago (Edited 1d 12h ago )

Didn't disagree but with old games that haven't been popular enough to get real remakes, I mean, won't can't just ignore that they don't own the games. The founder of night dive has talked about how it's a huge pain to figure out who owns some of these games and some of the Japanese companies in particular actually have this bizarre belief that a game should only be available for a limited time on the platform they were meant for. Or they just don't want to engage in negotiations at all because they got the IP in some merger or acquisition and they don't want to waste any time on understanding if it's a good deal to rerelease it at *whatever someone is offering*

There's also the fact that the classics are done in house by the company that does the emulators which are cross platform and they apparently only have so much bandwidth. Not a lot of money in these.

Great month for me been wanting Like a Dragon and Expeditions for a while, glad I held off on the sales.

Looking forward to Ridge Racer but it's a shame it's not the arcade archives version

TiredGamer2d ago

Sadly, Ridge Racer is probably the only game I’ll end up playing.

Bring us Ridge Racer 5 up-rendered without the nauseating jaggies of the original PS2 version.

Best Lead Performance of 2024

VGChartz's Lee Mehr: "As game scripts expand in size and the technology to capture performances improves, blockbuster game companies are under tremendous pressure to get the right fit for a leading role. In some cases, said actor essentially becomes the face of that franchise; their mug may be digitally altered or cropped in select ways, but they're – more or less – in the same spot as a film actor at this point. As a result, there's also a keener interest in how those performers sound if they're replacing somebody else.

Perhaps the most glaring example of that was Bloober Team's Silent Hill 2 remake. Alongside a bevy of other gameplay & story alterations, Luke Roberts replacing Guy Cihi's original James Sunderland was a major point of distress for long-time fans before release. Sure, Cihi wasn't a trained actor at the time (and it shows), but he carried a type of unique charm that meshed perfectly with the game's strange world. A similar situation was Troy Baker assuming the mantle of Indiana Jones. How similar could he actually sound to a younger Harrison Ford? Judging by the collective staff & community acclaim, both of them fared quite well, and so too did the others who made up our final five."
