Yes yes yes. Square for some reason still don't see the appeal of turn based despite many games and indies do so well. Really baffles me.
Persona 5 and its re-releases, Shin Megamit Tensei V, and Metaphor are all standout examples as well. I don't know what the sales for the latter 2 were, but they were critically-acclaimed. Granted, they were also all released by 1 studio, but you get what I mean. Your examples count as well.

Xenogears I want more than any other game I can think of. Hell I'd buy it with bare minimum upgrades at this point. I just want the option to play it on current gen hardware.

Square I know how to do it. Bring back legend of dragoon, make turn based mainline ff again, keep DQ traditional. Easy money right there.

Why is this taking so long? We saw footage 2 years ago and nothing since. It can't take that long to make what is a slightly changed version of an old game
I’m extremely excited for this so I really hope they take their time and make it perfect. DQ 1-3 were my first JRPGs.
