Wrong. Console sales really take off mid-cycle with the sub-$300 consoles. Microsoft sees the Series S as their slim model, but I think customers are wising up to that console’s limitations. Right now, the $400 PS5 is the lowest cast barrier to true current gen gaming.

This article misses the point. New games & more games will do zero.

I'm a Sony chap & the only games on the green side that get me a smidgeon jealous are Forza, Ryse Son Of Rome and the flight simulator title. Starfield does nothing for me & Redfall crashed and burned on entry.

The only game that Microsoft has coming out that peaks my interest is the Indiana Jones game, as I'm a nerd.

They should of had this digital series X from the start.

And that's besides the remasters and DLC.

THAT'S JUST BETHESDA. If it was just those games in the next few years it would be a more than decent few years for Xbox. But that's just Bethesda.

There's still Xbox Game Studios and Xbox Publishing. And there's probably gonna be exclusives coming from Activision and Blizzard as well.

How could you look at that and still say Xbox "needs more games"? How much more do you want? 😂

Xbox is BACK! It will have more blockbuster exclusives than Playstation this gen.
The next few years are gonna be total Xbox dominance in exclusives. It's gonna be insane! The salt will be immeasurable! Starfield salt is just the appetizer. Buckle up gamers!

that argument might have been true up until this year, but xbox has more first party games lined up this year than Sony does (for once). I dunno if ppl know this but it literally takes years to make a video game (usually 4-7 to build a new IP) and considering MS bought these studios years ago, has shown their 2023 launch window and also the fact that they have something like 12 more unannounced titles in development and considering that the next Bethesda games are skipping ps5 altogether, I don't really think this argument is the pinnacle of xbox criticism anymore.

Tell me again how the multiplatform strategy was supposed to fix everything. Look at your results and compare them to Nintendo, which keeps thriving with exclusives. Your loyal fans are gone. And let’s not forget the pile of IPs you purchased only to let them rot.

The worst thing is this is down from last years numbers/expectations which was down from the previous years numbers/expectations. You think about how long “down” has been a consistent part of the communication and you realize those subscriptions are what’s holding that boat together. The price cut of gamespass is still a price raise in a string of price raises. They are trying to use players to offset the missing revenue. Now call of duty is out of gamespass, which is literally WHY they bought the company. To draw people to the subscription. They realized they missed a boatload of money and that wasn’t sustainable. Now you pay for it like you would have if they never bought the company… so why buy the company? Mind you those billions still need to be paid back. Yeah it gives you a chance to say we make the biggest FPS… but the internal conversations must be brutal at high level on topics that really matter. Like revenue. Profitability. And ROI for the shopping spree.
