And just like the Bethesda buy up the only people that benefit are the already wealthy CEOs and shareholders, workers and gamers get the middle finger.

wiz7191929d ago

Yeah but it also came out they only bought Bethesda because of Sony getting greedy trying to get timed exclusives from them after already grabbing two big ones. No company wants games to keep missing their system because of the other paying for that studio to not release the game on the other system etc Square. Soooo MS just outbid that exclusivity deal by just outright buying the studio , since they had history anyway it made it much easier.

wiz7191929d ago (Edited 929d ago )

@Soulmaster Once they own the studio they not obligated to release a damn on Sony machine bro .. tf type of time ? When has a Sony owned studio ever release anything on Xbox ?? NEVER .. Wtf should MS release anything on Sonys machine … oh cause they bought a publisher ??? It’s not MS fault Sony couldn’t afford the asking price damn cry babies , also a publisher is only as good as their best studio .. being a publisher doesn’t mean a thing of the studios under them aren’t good ..

wiz7191929d ago

@Soulmaster Some of y’all Sony fans really must delusional or stupid to think Sony wouldn’t buy a publisher if they could afford to ..

Silly Mammo929d ago

Wiz - Looks like you truly bought into the "No we're the good guys here! We're just a scrappy underdog company trying to get by" drivel spouted by Phil.

SICKINDIVIDUAL929d ago

Timed exclusivity is not greed dumb dumb.

1Victor929d ago

@ wiz you ok brah ?
Breathe drink some chamomile tea with your special vitamins, your keyboard can’t take it anymore. Rage is not only a game is a dangerous and sickening psychological affliction that affects everyone around you.

If anyone had any doubts as to why Bobby wants this travesty to go though so badly now you know, it’s not for the betterment of the company nor their games communities, it’s not for better quality of games ITS ALL ABOUT HIS BANK ACCOUNT.

wiz7191929d ago

@Silly no m I’m just not a fanboy , every company is out for your money .. None of them are your friends and doing stuff out of good will

Omegasyde929d ago

“When has a Sony owned studio ever release anything on Xbox ?” Destiny 2 Expansions and MLB 2022 / 2023 say hi 👋

Also Crackle and Funimation media apps available on Xbox for years. Yes not a game but an Apps made by Sony.

neutralgamer1992929d ago

Brother having a game timed exclusive vs buying the whole publishing business isn’t the same thing. And the reason companies are willing to make the deal with Sony are 2 folds

80% of game sales come from PlayStation so if Sony offers upfront payment plus 80% sales on consoles those publishers aren’t losing anything. Xbox as a brand has to create more value

wiz7191928d ago

@Omega Destiny 2 being out before the acquisition they couldn’t just pull it .. and a baseball game isn’t that much ,

You dont need to be rich to be a shareholder

ApocalypseShadow930d ago

I'd bet his tickets on the train to "getting himself out of trouble if the deal goes through," are worth even more.

porkChop928d ago

How would he be out of trouble?

Master of Unlocking929d ago

What merger, I thought it was a buyout wtf.
Anyway, not surprised to hear that. No wonder Kotick wants that deal to happen. It's that company where the CEO only makes about 300 times as much as the lowest paid employee, when the CEO's "work" is so demanding that he has plenty of time to sit at the boards of a half-dozen other companies, and his employees have to resort to using the freely given coffee and sugar to fight hunger because they're so poor they don't even eat to repletion.
But questionable morality isn't a part of the equation here I assume...

JackBNimble929d ago

People who work for Activision are free the leave if they don't feel that they are getting paid what they're worth .
This isn't slavery and the free market dictates a worker's value.

I suppose you would abolish all executives and turn the company over to the workers to fight over. I'd like to see how long any company would last if that ever happened.

Executives are well paid for a reason and anarchy doesn't work in large companies.

Kotick Made $155 million from MS in the buyout, the little b*tch needs to stop whining. Thanks to this Microslop deal and massive industry consolidation thousands upon thousands of devs and other workers lost their livelihoods. This greedy piggie pervert needs shut up and f-off.
