Zack writes, "The new data also reveals that 45% of Xbox owners and 41% of PS5 owners are female, too.
This really shouldn’t be news and it certainly shouldn’t be surprising to anyone, but yes, new data from Circana shows that women play video games. In fact, more than half of all Switch owners are women. And a very vocal bunch of idiots are reacting about as well as you’d expect to this “revelation.”
On June 9, Mat Piscatella—the executive director & video game industry analyst at Circana (formerly NPD)—tweeted out some newly released data about who is buying and playing video games in the United States."

G-MODE will release Namco-developed game Xenosaga: Pied Piper as a G-MODE Archives+ title for Switch via Nintendo eShop and PC via Steam in Japan, the company announced.
Everyone: We want a Xenosaga Trilogy Remaster/Release/Remake!
Namco: We hear you! We are going to re-release a Xenosaga mobile phone game!
Everyone: wtf?
Now now... guys... Maybe this is part of testing the waters for either a trilogy re-release , remaster, remake, or a reboot?

Top-performing titles continue to dominate on console spending despite shifts in PC market.

Suda 51 is back, and crazier than ever. (In a good way.)
Don't see how this is shocking when the world population is split between men and women
Who gets upset over this!? I mean I wouldn’t have guessed, but great. Glad girls like gaming so much.
The stats since forever suggested that it was almost an even split between male and female gamers, except in times past that included mobile and console gaming combined, with the majority of female gamers playing mobile gaming experiences rather than console games. In today's market, if it's 60/40 on consoles now, that can also be put down to the types of available games on consoles being more varied. If you were to ask how many female and male gamers play games like Call of Duty, or Forza Horizon, or FIFA , God of War, etc or any other usually male dominated game, I would wager that yes, there are now more female gamers playing them thanks to female Youtube and Twitch streamers, but the real numbers playing these are not 40% of players. That said, there are likely some console games where there are more female players than male.
I knew this would be Kotaku before I read it, this “X amount of females are gamers now” articles usually pop up once a year in different forms.
What I find interesting though is the guy they are talking about however is replying to that Alanah Pearce who is kicking off because the Sumerfest Gaming show was all white males, even the round table stuff they do after the show.
She then mentions this

Then refuses to elaborate, which to me is stirring the pot to make all of them look like a suspect. If you are going to bring up a bold claim, then say it.
