Diablo IV Review - PC Mag

Diablo IV is a beautiful, massive new chapter in the classic hack-and-slash series that features a wildly addicting hunt for fresh gear.

Finally a reviewer includes MTs in the review. This an interesting CON: "Requires a Battle Pass investment to get the most out of it."

CorndogBurglar957d ago

It really doesn't though. The battle pass will likely add more to the game, just like every other game with extended content. But you can still get everything in the game right now, even without the battle pass that is coming. It's not like you are being held back from getting legendary items until the battle pass comes out or anything like tthat.

And the MT's in the store really are just cosmetic. They are expensive as all hell, for sure. But they don't give you any advantage in the game that others wouldn't have.

The deeper you get in the story and after the patch update you will see why Blizzard influences you to buy microtransactions and Battle Pass. A few of my friends said after they bought Battle Pass they started to get legendary items in no time 😂

HyperMoused957d ago

Havnt seen the need to buy anything, in fact id say you are silly to buy the couple bits of armour thar available, Most people like the idea of games like Diablo you start with nothing and earn your gear,if you buy it, why play really.

It could either be a new IP, or a long dormant IP that we don't know about. A deep piece of lore that nobody has picked up on. If it's a new IP, what the point of doing this teaser? Nobody will figure it out and it's weird marketing. I'll say it's a old IP making a comeback.

MIDGETonSTILTS1745d ago

The only game I can think of that involves a wolf and a crocodile might be Rampage, but there is no way their rebooting that IP like this

lukasmain45d ago

Could it be SAROS ??? Looks like it might be part of that world design. Alien architecture idk

Lightning7745d ago

Saros? No need to keep that secret we've already seen it plus that announcement wouldn't be received well. I mean PS fans would like it I guess.

Lightning7745d ago (Edited 45d ago )

Deeper analysis on it. If an old IP. It's definitely not in the past 10 years. I think it's a game from the past 20+ years. Why? Well nobody so far is able to figure out what this statue is. Which brings me to think it could be niche 20+ plus year old game. Again New IP? I mean viral marketing can happen but this type of. Marketing makes 0 sense so the chance of a new game are very Slim. IMO of course.

Do I think it's a big game. Tbh it's geoff. Though tbh he's gotten allot better at hyping and tempering expections. I think it'll be divided, niche title that some will be crazy excited for it others will be scratching heads or pissed off. Reception, divided.

No expectations at this point

anast106d ago

? All they had to do is improve on Diablo 2 and not reskin a cellphone game.

Michiel1989106d ago

why do you make it so evident you never even touched or looked at D4. The mobile game is a reskin of 3. There is still plenty you can trash the game for tho, but that will require you into knowing what the game actually is.

If anything the "skin" of the game, aka the visuals is about the only redeeming part of the fkn game.

1. Don't lock seasons. Let people switch between them and experience the content at their leisure.

2. Stop locking appearance items behind paywalls. You've even made it so you can't unlock as much as before, making it apparent you don't care about giving the content to people, just forcing them to pay for it. Do you think people care about working through new content if they're not going to get anything out of it unless they give your money? The store is littered with money only cosmetics, keep the seasonal stuff obtainable without money.

3. Make every build viable. This game is a big cookie cutter reliant game and you haven't grasped the idea that people want power fantasies and not limitations. But then you expect them to keep rolling up new characters? Make it make sense.
