I'll give it one thing though, for as stupid as it looks having a cut off dual sense on each side, that does alleviate one big problem with handhelds which are usually flat backs which is comfortability.

It will definitely be comfortable to play atleast for those that are interested in it with having proper handles.

For the right price I’d be all over this. No memory cards or separate games to purchase, just a (hopefully) light device device I can play Darkest Dungeon 2 in bed with.

The device would work as long as you have wifi, and it is an "optional" accessory, not like this is the PS6.

I would love a new portable PS device, but this doesn't contradict with that idea, they serve different purposes.

I can only cheers for this. A mobile is to small and plays like sh!t. With this I can let my teenage son play on his room without disturbing me.

Not going to lie I’d rather have a handheld but I get not wanting to spread yourself to thin with 3 devices to make games for.
I’ll get it because I collect proprietary stuff and I’m curious how it works. I can use it sometimes when my kids are going to bed or wife is using my gaming tv but I’d prefer a dedicated handheld no doubt.

Sony could launch a console with no games and it'd still sell out week in, week out. You'd have to be clinically obsessed with PlayStation to buy this.

This is just a PS5 add on like the earbuds, edge, and accessibility controller. No need to make headlines about it.

It’s not a Wii U. It’s an add on, not a massive pack in console controller. The Wii U had plenty of software to take advantage of assymtical gaining like Nintendo Land. This is more like the PSP and Vita; both of which had remote play long before Wii U.

Don’t knock it til you try it, or hear about what else it’s capable of nearer the time

Could be good if you can use it as a secondary menu or stats screen on the controller when playing ps5 on tv

I'm glad its not a new handheld, it would just end up, taking away resources from PS5 games, somebody will test to see if its any good, if it sucks it sucks, but sony are not in the business of putting out garbage so lets give them the benefit of the doubt for know

I wasn't happy with the way they handled Vita at all. I mean it was an awesome product but they mishandled and dumped it. A decade later they are preparing to re-enter the portable space with something worse than that. It even looks like a generic tablet device with controller halves attached, the same kind of product that's already widely available elsewhere.

It could be something if it had other functions besides being a stream screen. All it would take is an outdated ARM chipset to natively run Vita games, emulate PSP/PS1 and have access to the Vita store. I still care about preserving those games since no current hardware product from Sony can play games purchased on that platform and they could easily change that.

The least they could have done is engineer something that doesn't look like a Frankenstein's monster of generic tablet and dualsense. Unless it has an awesome price that undercuts similar products, it doesn't have much of a purpose.

Honestly a nice option for those not wanting to use their daily driver phone to stream and would like the dualsense features as well. I always disliked using my own phone as the battery just gets drained and most 3rd party phone controllers are expensive and terrible. What would make me think about actually getting one is if the bitrate picture quality and input lags are very good without needing to be too close to your ps5 or router.

Of course price will be a huge factor as well, it seems it'll be at least $200. I also wonder if it is hackable to play emulators at some point lol. I'm guessing it'll have a chip of a phone or some such. Another bad piece of news is...bad battery life, sony sticking to tradition lol.

Sony is just expanding PS5 accessory ecosystem. Project Q is just another accessory that I am sure will fit the use-case of many PS5 owners.

And just because you can already remote-play to your phone or tablet, doesn't mean you can't have a proper accessory 100% designed to be the best PS5 remote-play companion.

In fact, I bet Project Q will be the biggest ambassador for remote-play moving forward, when compared with all other alternatives. At least now, people already realizing that you can already remote-play with other accessories lol

Wuchang is great. Nine Sols didn’t have a physical copy so I never played it but I’ve heard good things so I will check it out. I stopped playing sports games many years ago when before the card dlc’s or whatever they’re called.
