Redfall Release Times Revealed

Arkane Studios' Redfall is finally approaching its launch date. But what is the Redfall release time in your part of the world?

GotGame8181108d ago

The reviews for Deathloop dropped the day before the game released. Redfall is releasing May 1st in North America. Wondering if reviews will come out tomorrow. I hope it's not a bomb.

Lightning771108d ago

Doom 2016 embargo was the day of release so who knows. The embargo could go up on Monday. I think the game will actually be good BUT it's opposite day for MS it seems so I wouldn't be surprised if the games bad.

Doesn't matter if I jinxed it or not. It's a matter of days now.

Tick Tock.

Bathyj1107d ago

It's not opposite.day. I think the chickens are coming home to roost is a more fitting analogy.

Everyone's just starting to wake up to this company's terrible output in the last decade. Even the most diehard of supporters.

You notice I don't call them fanboys because I'm not trying to insult anyone. I'm mearly pointing out the current situation that's been apparent to many for a long, long time.

Imagine everything resting on Starfield. How more unrealistic can Microsoft’s position become?

TheProfessional1107d ago (Edited 1107d ago )

Yeah right, everyone was excited for it until it became an exclusive. Now everyone hates it and bethesda. Such a joke. Just people too cheap to have both consoles. And I thought fallout 4 was garbage but try telling anyone that before the acquisition.

Just wait until it's actually released, it will be good and one of the first exclusives maybe worth getting.

jznrpg1107d ago

I have bought almost every console released since Atari 2600. It has nothing to do with being cheap.
I only have skipped a couple ultra niche consoles plus the Atari Jaguar , Xbox One and Series X . I’ve owned 3D0, ColecoVision, TurboGrafx16 all Sega , Nintendo and PS consoles plus more.
The reason I skipped Jaguar was because of games weren’t worth buying the console and the same for Xbox last 2 gens for me.

There are no games that I must play on Xbox.
If there ever is they are on PC also if I really want to play them but I don’t like giving a company like Xbox my money so it would have to be great and on Steam or another storefront if even then I am not sure I would buy them. But as of now I haven’t had to consider that route.

MS made the Xbox irrelevant on their own and has nobody else to blame for it.

Starfield could be good but will it be good enough? It could be not as good as well. One game doesn’t change things much for most people it’s yearly games that makes a difference.
Some years may be better than others for Sony and Nintendo but they always have some big games that sell every year.

I don't agree with the hate off starfield. I normally like Bethesda games. Mostly elder scrolls and fallout. But so far I can't sit here and say I can't wait for starfield. It's game I'll deffinetly give a rent on gamepass. But I can't say I'm excited.

Would I have preferred to play this on playstation of course I would. But I can't.

You don't even need a Xbox or even a pc to play it.

Anyone interested in playing it. Get your self a 1 month gamepass ultimate code on the cheap. Connect what ever controller you have to your smart TV or tablet or phone and just play it via xcloud.

May not be the best way to play it. But at least you can play it. Best of all you dont have to pay full price for gamepass. You won't have to pay for the game. Just get gamepass for as cheap as possible and play it for a month.

@jzmrpg

I don't think you understand the Xbox brand. Xbox is not a console, it's a gaming service. Microsoft is building it as a platform you can access anywhere and play anytime. Their console is an option to play on the couch in your living room, but you can play Xbox on your mobile device, on a pc, or you could play from some other streaming devices that have Xbox on their system. The fact that you play their titles on your pc makes you one of their customers, that's what they want.

Hofstaderman1107d ago

We know the calibre games Insomniac releases. We know Bethesda releases. Chalk and cheese buddy.

@Hofstaderman

“We know the calibre games Insomniac releases. We know Bethesda releases. Chalk and cheese buddy.“

Metacritic scores:

Fallout 3 - 91%
Fallout 4 - 87%
Oblivion - 94%
Skyrim - 94%
Doom - 85%
Doom Eternal - 87%

Sunset Overdrive - 83%
Spider-Man - 87%
Miles Morales - 85%
Rift Apart - 88%

Not quite as “chalk and cheese” as you’d suggest, “buddy”.

Both are incredibly talented and have pedigree. Just because one is now owned by Microsoft doesn’t immediately remove those Game of The Year titles they churn out & I expect Starfield will be an incredible game when it launches, though I am dubious as to its launch state given the numerous delays thus far and the potential for bugs with the Creation Engine.

Concord, Suicide Squad, Fairgame$ And ‘Vibes-Based’ Failures

Paul Tassi: "Sony recently reiterated its commitment to live service games with one big hit last year (Helldivers 2), one big cancellation (The Last of Us Factions) and one big failure (Concord). It’s no great surprise it is continuing down this road, given the way the industry is trending and the limited shelf life of its famed single player games. But it immediately made me think of a game that Sony is allegedly releasing that I have to believe is pre-destined to fail, Fairgame$."

Alos88494d ago

Fairgame$ feels like it's destined to flop out the gate- that initial trailer felt full of that same instantly-dated 'fight The Man with a ragtag team of weirdos' energy that was prevalent in Sega's Hyenas (which they wisely cancelled.) Unlike Marathon I just don't see this standing a chance.

Nacho_Z493d ago

It will definitely flop, missed the boat by a couple of years. Agreed that Marathon has a decent chance of succeeding it looks genuinely good and interesting.

It can't be sustainable having all these expensive GaaS being DOA being balanced by the odd modest success like Helldivers. The aim is to find the new Fortnite or whatever but it's highly unlikely and seems to be a massive waste of money.

Concord and the Other Biggest Flops of This Generation

Some of the biggest success stories in the history of gaming have happened during this generation of gaming. At the same time, some of the biggest flops in the history of gaming have also happened during this generation of gaming. To this end, a few games particularly stick out as, unfortunately, disastrous flops for those who made the games, sold the games, and ultimately, for many that played the games.

What a strange, short list. There have been many more games that arrived DOA, were never released, didn’t make their budget back, etc. Why cherry pick these games? Is this list based on the size of internet hate boners?

EternalTitan611d ago

These flops have a similarity that you may not be allowed to point out.

Skull and Bones gets my vote, at this point just completely remake AC Black Flag. If the Concord developers had made the game free to play, and toned down the in your face messaging via the mods and design choices, this game could have been serviceable eventually. I never understand why pandering to 5% of your audience and giving the finger to the other 95% seems like a good idea to these people. They never seem to learn. Disney has lost 1/3rd of its value and they keep doubling down on political messaging. I don’t get it.

BlackTar187611d ago

Some of these companies are paid huge amounts of money to do this stuff. They get truck loads of money to give “the message”
By blackrock and vanguards and multiple other venture capitalists even though it’s been proven over and over they fail.

I'm not interested in this game but i think it's great they added the offline mode for those who are.

darthv72709d ago

It was okay at first... once they added the performance update it was definitely better.

TwoPicklesGood710d ago

Bury this turd. It’s only good as a reminder of what devs shouldn’t do.

mkis007710d ago

I hate the concept of an announced final update.
