ArcheWorld Makes $1.2M Before Launching... Because NFTs

XL Games’ NFT-focused game ArcheWorld officially launches today, following a successful round of land sales (That’s not something you expect to say about a video game). Prior to launch, XLGames sold players land in the form of NFTs, raking in $1.2 million.

Well good to know the time when video games started to truly go downhill. I can see all those greedy a**hole execs rubbing their hands together looking to copy it in some way for their bottom line

I imagine a future scenario where a publisher gets rich off NFTs for a game and never actually releases the game

Inverno1130d ago

That future is already the present, Cryptozoo did just that.

We need this game (or some other like it) to make tons of money off of NFTs and then something happen that screws everybody involved in those transactions that make no developer ever attempt it again.

What are we looking at here? What can possibly happen that we can look forward to, causing the downfall of NFTs for good? Is it possible? I hope so.
