I feel like this would’ve been better as third-person. That way you see the model and world differently.

They take more effort to make. Cutting corners all the time.

Cyberpunk 2077 was out into first person because they wanted “immersion” and then a report came out that they had to restart development multiple times and removed the third person cam to quicken the development.

I guess it’s because you have to animate the model more than you would for a first person shooter?

Don’t get me wrong there’s a level of immersion that can be had with first-person, like Bioshock for example.

But for a world like this, I think being able to see the character move/interact with the environment and just see the world around the character and not have that tunnel vision would be so much better.

Yeah you’re right. Development is quicker when you don’t have to animate the whole body. In fairness they don’t have to anyway. Have you seen the animations in Gotham knights or The Avengers? Basic at best. Syphon Filter on ps1 has better walking animations than half the games released today

Far Cry with Pandora is what I’ve been saying this is since the news of its development broke.

Doesn’t look like I’m wrong.

Doesn't change the fact it is a steaming pile of shit really ....

Did you play it? I thought its actually a really decent game. Has great na'vi stories and beautiful environments.

I'm genuinely enjoying this game.

Yes, it has its share of recycled Ubisoft design tropes. But they're all reimagined quite thoughtfully to fit the source material. If you want to feel like a Na'vi in an open world Pandora, the game succeeds at that.
