The struggle continues. Skull and Bones delayed indefinitely now this.

MadLad1151d ago

Ubisoft is going to be gone in 2 years. Tops.

Lightning771151d ago

Maybe. They certainly can't be managed very well thanks to the leadership. rainbow 6 and AC are really the only games keeping them a float. Beyond Good And Evil is forever in developmental limbo.

Every other game via live service have flopped. The only reason Splinter Cell remake is happening is because fans forced them to after rejecting all these live service none sense.

GrizzliS19871150d ago

Lol what are you talking about. Quit blabbering

"qUiT bLaBbErInG"

Nah. This is a public forum, thus I'll speak my mind. Thanks for the suggestion though. :)

Ubisoft literally relies on 2 franchises (FarCry and Assassin's Creed) and a bunch of rinse and repeat generic action games leeching off of the Clancy name.
They can't even get games out after ten years (Skull and Bones, Beyond Good and Evil). They can't even get remakes of Splinter Cell and Prince of Persia into shelves.

Their stock is worth a tenth even of publishers like Focus Home interactive, who focus purely on indie and AA games.
A shift of focus to NFTs and the mobile market. Basically begging to be acquired as of last year.

But yeah "bLaBbErInG"

Profchaos1150d ago

Sounds like they will outlive e3 at least.

Took the words out of my mouth

Ubi-SOFT is so past their prime and has so many issues from sexual harassment- insubordination - executive issues that bleed down to their department workers - the list goes one and on and on...
Assassin Creed - Far Cry - Tom Clancy are old franchises that are rinse wash and repeat - re-skinned garbage at this point !

Nobody likes an unexpected pull out.

U-Bi-Soft though. 🥁 -__-

cammers19951150d ago

Lol might as well cancel E3 at this point.

EvertonFC1150d ago

Whatever happened to my beloved Unisoft 😔 been shite, going down hill since after "black flag"

Profchaos1150d ago

Feels like they found to much success in far cry 3 and templated their games from then on out.

Enemy outposts check
Towers check
Climbing elements check
Mandatory stealth missions check
Thousands of map markers better believe that's a check.

Ok we have a ubi game

Knushwood Butt1150d ago (Edited 1150d ago )

Actually, I'm playing FC5 at the moment and it doesn't have Ubi towers in the traditional sense. It does have some towers, but they don't unlock maps and are used for side quest purposes, so a bit different!

shinoff21831150d ago

I feel it's been going downhill longer then that. They don't take chances anymore. Like above someone said it's all rinse and repeat

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

dveio21d ago

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Jingsing21d ago

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Tanktopmaster9221d ago

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit21d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing21d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9221d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse

Phil Spencer killed the Xbox Let It Go move on to PC

Jingsing21d ago

They would be better breaking up what valued assets they still have and put them out to auction for the competition.
There is no more financial gain for them on any trajectory in the entertainment space.
