Star Citizen Developers Apologize for "Super Rough Start" After Update 3.18 Launch

The developers of Star Citizen at Cloud Imperium Games have taken to Twitter to apologize to the users for widespread issues following the deployment of update Alpha 3.18.

They should apologize that after 65 years they have yet to come out with a finished product and are just updating an Alpha ... don't tell me it is not part of a scam !!!

“Sorry guys can you donate another 50 million to our charity I mean game”

Wouldn’t it make some sense to finish the game and then overhaul stuff. But then they can’t take “crowdfunding” anymore and would have to actually sell the game

I think most of the "crowdfunding" they get now is from people buying the game or buying ships. They have over 200,000 mau. Yes it's still in alpha, but anyone can buy the game and play.

How does one have a "rough start" to an update for a game they've taken all the time they've wanted to develope?

Knightofelemia1190d ago (Edited 1190d ago )

I am guessing the hiccup is because the money this game is sucking up and swallowing went down the wrong hole.

Sure....since they raised close to a billion they don't even need to make a profit.

blacktiger66d ago

Well You know GTA 6 is like 2 billion dollar. So I don tknow why you trippin

jznrpg66d ago

But it’s not funded by players for over 13 years. And it will release before Star Citizen

blacktiger66d ago

what difference does it make, it's being funded while you are pissed off, money is money. Why do you have emotion?

Pergele65d ago

Did you know you are so stupid? Like it's almost funny

Azurite66d ago

The money is allocated between two games, most of it goes to Squadron 42.

peppeaccardo66d ago

Feels like when at the mall people stop you to give you free products and once you accept they won't stop to follow you until you buy the rest ..... F-DAT !

Noskypeno66d ago

What, you don't want shoe cleaner that costs more than the shoe?

raWfodog66d ago

I do wish they'd release this for PS5 Pro at the very least. I've been craving a good realistic space exploration game since Frontier Developments stopped supporting ongoing updates for Elite Dangerous on consoles. I put a ton of hours into that game and then they just stopped console support when the Odyssey update came out. Pissed me off LOL. I guess I'll get back into No Man's Sky for the time being since there's a bunch of new stuff since I've last played.

andy8566d ago

I didn't even realise you had to pay. Who on earth is paying to play a game that is still in alpha over a decade on 😂

thorstein65d ago (Edited 65d ago )

"A decade?"

This started before No Man's Sky was announced.

2011. It's been a decade and a half.

Shameless plug for NMS: you can build all of Star Citizens' ships in NMS for free. The only difference is that one of these games has launched...a decade ago. And the new update allows you toto capture creatures and battle them in an arena.

Knightofelemia66d ago

It's still a giant money sucker fools and their money are soon parted.
