With some of the franchise's best games already being remade, Capcom may be running out of Resident Evil games that fans want to revisit.

Capcom recently released Resident Evil Requiem, and it's been so successful that it's seemingly dragging along every other Resi game with it.
That's certainly true in the UK; the latest physical retail charts have come in, and the top 10 includes five Resident Evil games across all platforms.

Capcom has updated its list of “Platinum Titles“—games that have sold over one million units—providing total sales numbers as of September 30, 2025.
Arka: "We might be done with gamescom 2025, but the summer of video games is heating up with Tokyo Game Show 2025 up next."
Really though?
After they gave RE3 to their second team and it didn’t so well fan reception wise compared to the RE2 remake they took the RE4 remake off them and gave it to the main team.
My point is that if they stick to their main team and they remade the first Resident Evil again (it’s been over 20 years now), Resident Evil 0 and Resident Evil Code Veronica then you have a solid 3 games to get through. Each game would take about 3 years or so, making that 9 years before they face any issue and by then who knows they’ll hopefully use the remake timeline to just redo RE5 and change the story to softboot the entire franchise.
They should give their second team RE Outbreak and just focus their online efforts into that instead
🤦♂️ seriously?! I’m loving the REmakes myself, but it’s not a problem at all. Once they run out, Capcom will do what it’s been doing, making brand new RE games. As lucrative as it is, and cool that they’re making a more cohesive feeling universe, the remakes aren’t the future of the franchise.
Here's the state of the industry.
Being worried there might not be enough content to resell to us again.
Imagine actually just making solid new titles. They're already "remaking" Horizon Zero Dawn. This crap is getting way overboard.
Good means they can do Dino Crisis after RE x3
