Since i was a youngin playing the Genesis i never really made a big fuss about which consoles are better. Yes i loved Sonic, MK, Zombies ate my Neighbors and a bunch of other games. But i also loved games that were only on SNES like Mario World (one of my secrete favorite games of all time and in my opinion the best Mario), SF2, Donkey Kong etc. Games were and are just games to me. I skipped the Ps1/N64/Saturn days and focused on school and social life. Opted to jump back in the game with the Dreamcast. First console to really capture my attention with Sonic Adventure, SF3 and Soul Reaver. Turned out to be my favorite console offering a bunch of different games.

I essentially got my Ps2 because all my friends had a Ps2. I remember staying up all night finishing NBA Street Vol 2 with my best friend at the time AJ and this kind of loose girl we hung out with. Good times. I played GoW/2 and MGS3 and i INSTANTLY had to get the next iteration in those franchises. I used to play my friends XBOX as well when his girlfriend wasn't being so uptight. Also i was one of the only people back in 2005ish who had a HDTV and watched stuff in HD and i was interested in Blu Ray as well. I knew the majority of games would be multi and i could get them on the Ps3. It's not about if it's a port or not to me, it's if the game is good or not. Doesn't matter about the console. I hopefully will pick up a 360 eventually for Mass Effect, NG2 and Alan Wake which are games that are right up my alley.

i have played many systems and still have them from pong and atari all the way to now.even though i loved sega's style and nintendo's quest for pefection in gameplay,nothing beats sony's style and quest for perfection that's all wrapped into one.

no one buys nintendo's systems for multiplatform games.they buy nintendo's systems for NINTENDO'S GAMES.no one buys sony's systems for multiplatform games.they buy sony's systems for SONY GAMES.the same thing should be what 360 fans are looking for.but instead,they are looking forward to the possible crossplatform development of what sony had from third parties.

sony fans don't mind because they were looking for what sony was offering anyway.we don't really care what was on 360 that comes over to ps3.but 360 fans jump up and down when former playstation franchises come to 360.that's sad really.looking for third parties to get games instead of looking to microsoft to lead the way.

but there's more.from the camera,the controller,the system,the firmware updates,the formats from cd to dvd to bluray,sony trumps the competition.while nintendo fans get all excited about wagging a controller,sony has a camera that lets you do things with NO HANDS.again,NO HANDS.from eyetoy to PSEYE.that's still beyond what nintendo is trying to do.motion is cool.but sony can pull that off too.and sony fans know what games have fun motion control.

being a tech company and a hardware company means sony is always on the front lines in next gen technology.and i love technology.nintendo likes to rehash old tech.and it seems microsoft was willing to hold on to old tech too.i like the past,but i don't won't to relive it again and again.and sony doesn't like to either.

some will say,"look at the controller.""look at it again." is what i'd say.the playstation controller has evolved from ps1 to ps3.the triggers,the pressure sensitivity,the motion,the power button.it's just not the same from a decade ago.

Give me an Xbox that is guaranteed not to prod than I will buy it seriously because they've got some games I just don't wanna play on pc. The worst thing that could happen is having yur system stop functioning on yu.

Could it be the great list of exclusive games from sonys 20+ in house company, could it the free online that it comparable to one you pay for (XBL), could it be the innovative games (LBP, Heavy Rain), could it be the 2 previous consoles that have sold beyond great and have had some of the best games ever, could it be that they always try something new (DVD, BLU-Ray), or maybe its the simple fact that its a reliable system with a less then 1% failure rate. WOW, I cant even fathom why anyone would want a PS3.

I'm a fan of games. I went with the PS3 because it offered most of the titles I wanted. I also have a great gaming PC due to my extensive work in Maya, so I'm able to get PS3 exclusives, multiplatform titles, and superior editions of most 360 exclusives without actually needing to own a 360. People can argue the meaning of "exclusive" all they want, I just know what I own. If I want to play Halo 3 though, I'll go to my friend's place or borrow my brother's system. I don't have the time to finish my PS2 back catalog, let alone buy 2 HD systems. It would be a waste for me.

That's not to say the 360 is a bad system. Far from it. It's great for developers, has a robust library, and I really love what they have done with the Live Service (sans fees of course). I just know it's not the system for me due to the aforementioned PC.

Than why did the 360 outsell the ps3 by a MILLION consoles in 2 months in NA??? The lead is growing. Gamers are choosing the 360.

Because it's what I've known and loved since the birth of the PlayStation. I play all consoles, I'm a gamer, that's how I get down. But when it comes to what I wanna spend money on and play in the comfort of my home, I gotta go with PlayStation because ever since I played one, I was freakin' hooked! What other reason do I need? The machines are reliable (none of mine have broken yet, knock wood), when I hold that controller in my hand, be it the PS1, 2, or 3, I'm at home. They do seem to be on the forefront of gaming tech (the exception is the Dreamcast, SEGA had SONY beat on that one), so I can't be mad at the PlayStation at all. XBOXes break, and I don't like Halo, Nintendo is cool, hell their first console had me in love with gaming when I was five, but there are only a few titles on that machine that I HAVE to play (Mario Kart...) that I can tell myself that buying a Wii is worth it. Anyway, when it come to my gaming needs, PlayStation satisfies and then some. Nothing against the other guys, it's just my personal preference.

the games i like are on PS3. and yeah.. the system is solid and future proof. (though my 60gb crapped on me after 8 months). now i've got 40GB but i upgraded my HD to 250GB. so it's cool.

I bought a PS3 simply because I owned both previous consoles and had some amazing gaming experiences on them so it just kinda came natural to me to go and buy a PS3 once I had the money to (by that I mean once I had enough credit on my plastic friend lol).

Technically it's brand loyalty but in my mind I was just expecting more of the same, when I bought the console I didn't know it played Blu-ray (I didn't even know what BR was, had never heard of it) or had built in wi-fi or a HDD or any of the features it had. To me it was just the new Playstation and I wanted in on it because the previous 2 were so awesome.

I was disappointed for a while because there weren't that many games I wanted but it didn't bother me as much as it should have because I was hugely into an MMO called Lineage 2 at the time so not like I wasn't occupied. The games started to come though and I don't play MMO's much right now so my PS3 and it's games get a lot of love now.

The reasons I don't own a 360 are simple. I bought the original xbox simply for Halo 2 and it disappointed me, as much a sI loved the first I hated the 2nd so there was no way I was buying a 360 for Halo 3. The only other games I'd actually want to play on that console is probably Gears but I can play the first one on PC and will probably be able to play Gears 2 on PC at some point so I see no reason for me to want to buy one. That of course could change, if they have more exclusive games I want and can't get for my PC I'll buy one some day but for now I'm happy with my PS3 and PC.

I got the PS3 because

1) I had PS1 and PS2, so it kinda made sense
2) Brand loyalty (although that didn't factor much into my decision)
3) the most important one, Naughty Dog, Insomnia and all the developers who do exclusives for Sony brought me in, as all ND and IG are my favourites so y'know, didn't want to give them up.

I must admit, Square Enix was part of that before they moved to the Xbox but hey, we have Versus eh? Which looks way better than FF13, which looks too girly for my liking.

they opt for the playstation brand because they know they are buying quality hardware with unrivalled games, you get more than just a games console with the playstation brand, you get satisfaction for as long as you game.

Sony is a Pioneer of gaming and leads it into the future while xbox paid its way into the gaming industry and offerers nothing new until they copy it from Sony.

Im not gonna argue with anyone and iv said it many times before on this site Sony are probably one of the most reliable companys you can be with infact most Japanese companys are reliable but Sony give people what they want and people want the latest fastest, greatest technology and Sony constantly deliver like they did with the PS3 it reliable its fast it uses the latest technology and Sony arnt as money hungry as MS are. I think the Wii is a gimick i only baught one game for it and it is hardley played. Its only useful if you have a group of people around you to play it. I spend more time playing my PS3 cause your use to it after a while. I mean the controllers has not changed much since the PS1 days and to me its alot more comfortable than the 360 controllers. I only baught two games for my 360 this past month and that was Oblivion and Left 4 Dead. When games go multi I usually opt to buy it for the PS3. And if Microsoft keeps bribing developers with their wallet it will eventually bite them in the ass. Sony it playing cautiose with the market and them trying to attract developers is the best way instead of using their wallet. As for Killzone 2 have not played the first one but I am stoked about it.

Gamers prefer the Wii - casual, and 360 - hardcore. Sony Loyalists and Blu-Ray zealots prefer the PS3 because they misguide themselves into beleiveing because it has a "PS" logo on it that it is somehow better.

My PS3 is used only for single player and exclusive games because I think PSN sucks. Because of that I buy most of my games for 360.

if a game was on both systems i got it for my xbox. my brother bought a ps2 n i never toudched it. xbox had faster load times, smoother graphics and sometimes custom soundtracks. i waited for GTA 3 n it was worth it IMO. theres nothing like running over ppl while bumping your own playlist! my cuz had it for ps2 n i just wasnt interested. (IMO, GTA sold the PS2) ps2 didnt have a multiplayer game like halo. red faction was bunns and u could go online using XBConnect! ps2 didnt offer that! XBConnect was free online!

The PS3 is one of the best systems I have ever owned, along with the PS1, PS2, and the Super Nintendo. It has exclusive games I'm really interested in and got me back in the FPS genre. :]

I await Killzone 2 with open arms because I think this will be a game that will keep me up all night, lol.

I like both systems. Currently there are more games on the 360 I wouldn't want to live without than on the PS3. But they are both great systems.

Well, I play my 360 a little more, but I love my PS3 as well and it is getting better all the time. I just think that the PS3 doesn't quite match what the 360 offers at this time. The online on the 360 is hands down better and it also has more games I want to play. I also tend to buy most multiplatform games for the 360 because they usually look better and because I like Xbox LIVE more.

But like I said, the PS3 is getting better and I think next year I will play them about the same.

But I tend to play most of my games on the 360, as all of my friends own 360's and I like to take advantage of private chat. The PS3 has some good exclusives, though, that make it worth owning. MGS4 and LBP alone are enough.
