Horizon: Call of the Mountain PSVR2 review -- "Survival requires perfection" - Gaming Trend

Sony needed a system-seller for their PlayStation VR2, and Horizon: Call of the Mountain is it. Scale, interactivity, haptics, and satisfying combat that matches the main games makes for a must-have for anyone picking up Sony’s newest hardware.

There's a lot of detail in this review. I've seen 2 reviewers say this is VR's Mario 64 moment and another one said Horizon is up there with Half life Alyx. I don't know how much more praise you can give to a game?!

PureBlood1065d ago

Would any of those disagreeing like me to provide links? Don't be upset, join the fun 😉

"I've seen 2 reviewers say this is VR's Mario 64 moment and another one said Horizon is up there with Half life Alyx"

Both of those are 90+ games. This is sitting at 79.

That doesn't mean it's a bad game, but it's no Mario 64 or HL Alyx.

Game hasn't even released yet so be quiet.

Shouldn't you be playing your GOTY hi Fi rush?

Hypocrite.

As many have already pointed out, those games are being referenced to highlight the departure from what we are accustomed to - such is the generational leap. I don't think you're struggling to understand this, I think you're just upset. One of the outlets that said this was Eurogamer. You usually trust them, right? Lol

I get it; bad day for you, seeing all the praise being heaped on PSVR2 and it's games, since you've campaigned so hard for so long against it. The people that have played it are making these claims, you are attempting to discredit them when you have zero idea what you're talking about and have a history of downplaying. Don't waste your time, because nobody is falling for it, just like they didn't with the Nintendo guy above.

It's crazy how the lack of comprehensive cognition is alluding to individual's minds. He isn't saying it is greater than either of those games. He is saying its impact as a VR game is on par. Looking at the offerings up until now, who couldn't understand how he arrived at his conclusion? Delusion, bias, and pure hate are all blinding factors hindering an individual from recognizing a good thing. It has to be a very miserable space to exist.

I'm hyped for the opportunity to experience Sony's new outing with VR. Perhaps if all you MS supporters demanded more than cheap services, you wouldn't have to be so salty towards any positivity shown to a company that's actually putting in effort to progress the industry. You do know that the option to partake is there instead of hating from the outside, right?

Pureblood

You already know the type of people smashing that disagree button

Septemberindecember

He stated what he read not that he agreed with it. He said one reviewer said , not that he himself agreed. Obviously pureblood hasn't played it.

septemberindecember1064d ago

And a load of reviewers haven't given it anywhere near that type of praise. Singling out two reviewers and ignoring (or flat out disagreeing) with all the reviews that contraindicate that position is confirmation bias. Pure and simple.

Looks like my wallet might be hurting in a little bit lol

SullysCigar1065d ago

I've been SO bad. I pre-ordered the PSVR2 and then the GT7 announcement hyped me up and I bought all the driving gear too. I now NEED PSVR2 so I can forget about the money I've spent and lose myself in it!

YOLO, right? Can't wait for 22nd to arrive. I'll stack on carbs in advance, so making time for that doesn't ruin my fun!

Rimeskeem1065d ago

Make sure to have a poop/pee bucket at the ready!

dumahim1065d ago

Did you get a seat too or just wheel and pedals?

SullysCigar1065d ago

^ @Rimeskeem, I've got my adult diapers ready for RE Village, so I'm all set!

^ @dumahim, I got a seat and frame too. Went for Thrustmaster T300RS (heard great things about the wheel, but mixed opinions on the pedals). Seat looks great and it folds, which is a bonus. I've got it all set up, but resisting the urge to use it until PSVR2 arrives!

ravinash1064d ago

Think of it this way.... if your living with the PSVR2 head set on the whole time, you won't care that your living in a cardboard box.

I already pre-ordered Call of the Mountain and a controller charger to go with my PSVR2 .

MrNinosan1065d ago

Same, and already have GT7, No Man Sky and REVillage.
Have also ordered Song in the Smoke, Switchback, Pavlov, Kayak VR: Mirage, Moss 1+2 and Zenith.

Might be some other games I ordered, but can't remember all 😏

buffig1065d ago

That's a damn fine selection.I've gone for the Horizon bundle. I already have GT7 and a full rig. Then I've picked up RE Village, No Man's Sky (again), and Kayak. Can't wait. I think we're in for a treat!

S2Killinit1064d ago

Yeah I need a charger too. Been cheaping out but I think its necessary with VR using two controllers at the same time.

victorMaje1065d ago

It’s going to be glorious!

slayernz1065d ago

cant wait, few more days to go! one thing im curious about is what happens if you fall (or jump) off the mountain, or even if you can? none of the reviews or previews i read mentioned it so be interesting (and trippy i imagine) to see if you can!

Can’t wait, especially now that I’ve learned that Ace Combat8 will not have any kind of vr component.

Wasn’t really keeping up with Aces because it was all multiplayer, I guess this will have to do
