I don’t think how well it sells in the first year matters as much as what games come out in the first few years. Hypothetically It could sell as well as the first PSVR until 2023 and then a really good game or 2 comes out and sells a lot more . If the great games keep coming sales will continue to rise . To me it will be the must have software that makes the difference . People will pay to play must have games .

It's not so much that it's an unpopular opinion as it is a question of what the purpose is in sharing the opinion that this product that isn't mainstream isn't mainstream. There probably isn't much difference between your opinion and those of VR enthusiasts on the current VR market or the hurdles this particular tech has to overcome to achieve more mainstream appeal. The difference is that while those of us who enjoy VR are supporting the industry now and helping it grow in exchange for products we get enjoyment from today, detractors are constantly starting debates and making predictions about its future based on whether it is mainstream now. It gives the same energy as the person who feels the urge to "inform" a roomful of pro-wrestling fans that wrestling is fake.

I have to dosagree w you. VR has made strides since back when PSVR was released, especially PSVR. All the hassle that made people not invest time in VR has resolved. The tracking issue was the biggest one imo for PSVR. Now people will play it at friends house and be blown away with it. Its night and day. To be able to jump in quickly is huge.

The original projected numbers were made up, just like the production reduction was, the only thing sony has ever said is they would have plenty available, you dont know what their projections are to state they are going to be wildly off them or that they need to change them🤣🤦‍♂️

They confirmed their numbers havent changed, no ifs ands or buts.🤷‍♂️

And to think, people buy TV's just to play games...... And they cost way more.... But I guess, there also buying one to watch movies.. Say BR or Streaming.... Oh wait... PSVR2 does that also...
VR I experienced at the Sydney Powerhouse museum in the early 90's.. Theres no way VR is going away.... Its those that think it will go away are the ones thats opinions will disappear into the digital, Pancake, ether.

(Edit: Just to say.. So agree.. A few great VR games trounces the many good Pancake games)

How exactly is that supposed to work? You think less people will want PSVR2 if it is harder to get? Which part of the world do you live where that happened to the PS5? I personally have yet to see that happened. Sony has repeatedly cut production estimates for the PS5 and people are still lined up to get them.
