Resident Evil has been on a half-decade winning streak, but how will Capcom keep this train going?

Capcom has updated its list of “Platinum Titles“—games that have sold over one million units—providing total sales numbers as of September 30, 2025.

Capcom Co., Ltd. (Capcom) today announced that worldwide sales of Resident Evil 4 surpassed 10 million units in the approximate two years since its 2023 release, making it the fastest title in the series to hit this milestone.
I think it'll be great, one of the best games of the year. Hopefully they go onto CV next.
For remakes they have years, maybe a decade worth of games to remake in the RE mainline, but continuing the actual story.. I feel like some of the old cast need to die, bring a little more danger, maybe revive Wesker because they simply can't top the fella. Resident Evil will never die, it's gamings werewolf or.. zombie, it'll never cease to be popular like Halloween!
I like the old school re better but I do like what they did with 2 and 3. Personally re4 was good but I never liked it as an re game. I feel it did alot of good stuff but that story was kinda eh
We're truly in the end times if Capcom's only saving grace is remaking RE games.
Consider all of their other neglected properties. Clamoring for CV remake is silly. While you remember it fondly, it has a mere fraction of the recognizability that the mainline numbered games have, esp 4. From a publishing perspective, it would be a massive financial risk to remake due to uncertain sales figures.
How will Capcom keep the train going? Well, SF6 is coming out in a few months, SFV is still being played competitively in comps. They have a ton of other properties that could be either remade or rebooted or sequeled (although I hate that trend).
We shouldn't be demanding remakes. That's how we wound up in this shitty "remake/reboot" culture that's destroyed the film industry and will destroy the games industry. Nostalgia is a bitch of a drug. Ignore it. Play the original. That's the one you loved anyway. Demand new games and new experiences from publishers.
Am I the only one that feels like this RE4 remake does not look like it got the full RE2 remake treatment? It just doesn't look as good comparatively to my eyes at least. Maybe the style of RE4 just doesn't look as good in the RE engine? Idk. Guess we'll have to wit and see.
