Start being more realistic with your pricing. Just because people were stuck paying scalper prices out of necessity, that doesn't make it the new msrp standard. There's other places for us to go if you want to be greedy idiots.

With a reported 250 million Covid cases in China in December you have to wonder if production delays and shortages ramp up again this could only be the start of a feeding frenzy.

China arn't locking down like they were anymore, so production won't be as badly effected as long as there isn't an outbreak in the factory.
Plus with the market dropping out of crypocurrencey, there arn't as many buyers as there were last 2 years.

I was excited with the 40XX cards, but at those prices, I'll hold to my good old 2080ti and will buy a used 4080/4090 in a year or so when 50XX gen arrives.

MadLad1244d ago

Yeah. I got lucky and found a 3080 at msrp before the scalper Armageddon went into full swing.
That's more than enough power. They're doing a couple cool things with the 4x series, but they're taking the piss with the pricing.
I'm someone who only upgrades every two or three generations anyway.

Absolutely mate, now that being said really expensive the 4090 is a top teir card to demand a top tier price, but regular people don't need that much, it's for professionals which will be willing to pay a premium on premium goods.

If the 4080 came out to be about £900 instead of £1200 it is, people would be happy with it (still expensive), as it would be alligened with the price to performance ratio better.

I just wished AMD would figure out a way to make their ray tracing performance comparable as that's what's killing them at the min. They have made great strides with FSR 2.0, but lighting is the thing that people should be focusing on as it makes the biggest difference in visuals, we are getting to a point now where polygon counts are going to increase but it's at the point of diminishing returns. Resolution will stay stagnant now for 10 years+ as soon as 4k becomes standard like 1080p was.

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Jingsing33d ago

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Tanktopmaster9233d ago

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit33d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing33d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9232d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
