European Commission Deputy Head draws ire for public comments regarding the Microsoft-Activision merger, but he is not involved in the merger unit.

Rockstar has launched an official marketplace for "every server and every player" to buy mods: Cfx Marketplace.
I wonder how much of this isn't just taken work of others who have modded for free.
Edit: Also, great way for R* to take popular ideas and build them into GTAVI based on demand.
Ah, perfect timing with them taking down the Bully online fan mod. Greedy a$$ company.
I'm not entirely sure how to read this, as it doesn't seem exactly like an exact parallel to Bethesda's paid mods shenanigans.
Rather than single player stuff, this appears to be aimed solely on Cfx Servers. From what I've gleaned, apparently Rockstar bought the Cfx mod team several years ago, coming a few years after weird contentions led them to ban a few of their members. Ultimately, the question is if they plan to keep this contained to only online/servers.
I have to guess to a degree yes. It'd be pretty hard to "force" paid mods for single player when modding files locally on your own machine, but much easier for servers they'll control. So perhaps this is their soft launch ahead of GTA6 online and they'll clamp down more tightly on non-official servers going forward? Ever since they've become a 1 or 2 property studio, I haven't really cared much for Rockstar stuff, so I'm not entirely up on everything surrounding this. Sounds like it has the potential to be problematic further down the line, but right now fairly easy to ignore...I think lol.

Former CEO describes lawsuit filed by Swedish pension fund as a "collateral attack" on Activision Blizzard.
Kotick Made $155 million from MS in the buyout, the little b*tch needs to stop whining. Thanks to this Microslop deal and massive industry consolidation thousands upon thousands of devs and other workers lost their livelihoods. This greedy piggie pervert needs shut up and f-off.

I don't think it matters if he is involved with the unit or not - he will likely have contact with said people.
He has single handedly just handed Microsoft their biggest legal defense against any decision by the EU commission that they are not happy with. They will just point towards this guy and say "Look, the case was already decided before they'd even reviewed any evidence".
Hopefully European commission does block this, or on the condition that Activision sells Blizzard, Crash and Spyro, and most of IPs to other companies or form a side company to house these IP in as a consequence for this huge purchase but nah that ain't reality.
It’s a bad look for the EU commission no matter how people try to spin it. This can definitely play into MS’s favor if this guy is legit.
The gaming community's response on this case is a prime example of how childlike, immature and immoral most gamers are; how out of touch, unknowledgable and two-sided they can be and how entitled they can feel.
Activision Blizzard is a company facing an internal collapse, bleeding talent and facing legal trouble from it's employees. With a board of directors that can not assess the situation properly and fix the company's internal problems and their game quality (especially blizzard) has been on a sharp decline compared to what they could have been.
Most franchises, on the other hand, are being bled to death and communities like WOW are starting to die.
Yet, despite microsoft being able to fix the internal problems and aliviate the stress between management and employes, gamers choose to attack the acquisition that could actually save the company. The acquisition that could possibly save and bring back the life to World of Watctaft, diablo, overwatch 2, Tony Hawk etc etc.
It is beyond me, as such, to think that someone can be so small as to ignore the actual death that is lurking around Activision's ip's corner, so that he can still play call of duty in that single console of his.
