Atomic Heart Development A Mess, Game Files Possibly Leaked

Atomic Heart has been the subject of severe controversy as of late following mismanagement reveals, and now its files may have leaked.

It's the kind of game which I thought could go either way

It would be amazing, an under the radar gem

or

It would be terrible and a complete let down

I know what you mean. Awesome concept, promising screenshots, trailers...then silence.

That's how I felt about We Happy Few... I really hope Atomic Hearts pulls through, though, because I've been intrigued for ages. WHF was an absolute stinker in the end.

Rocosaurus1208d ago

Either way, really looking forward to try it out.

Crows901209d ago

must have missed all the "controversy" all I've seen is anticipation.

true but apparently what we've seen is a series of doctored trailers and not the game. Their only experience is a failed VR project they sold off before starting Atomic. The primary investor sounds like a Russian Curt Schilling, i.e. someone with lots of money, no experience, and demanded lots of rewrites. Mundfish let the entire QA team go. Not gonna trash the game but there's definitely some red flags. Honestly, my first one was seeing it's Day1 GamePass title; they're not confident in the ability of this Russian Bioshock to sell. But it could just be a disgruntled former employee with an axe to grind. Won't cost us much to find out soon

Crows901208d ago

Yes ...we will find out soon.

"What we've seen is a series of doctored trailers" that is a concern because it looks too good to be true.

I watched ten minutes of gameplay of a boss fight and couldn't decide how genuine it was, it looked real but the animations looked a bit too good. Then again maybe that's just something it does really well.

XiNatsuDragnel1209d ago

Hopefully this turns out good imo.

monkey6021209d ago

While this could all be true, this is an extremely poorly written article and based on nothing.

MadLad1209d ago

I'm really hoping this comes out solid.
Time will tell.

10 million players for Atomic Heart, nice!

Does this mean we might see an Atomic Heart 2? Crispy Critters!

NovoSlev281d ago

They're launching a new publishing label, Mundfish Powerhouse, but I wouldn't be shocked if they'll be using that to self-publish Atomic Heart 2 - hopefully!

It's on GP. 10 million players and a made another studio? So Did Gamepass help or contribute in making another studio for them? I know its on other platforms which also helped their new venture.

Boy_the_CowRoy279d ago

10 million? Hard to believe for a game with only 400 people playing this game currently and a all time peak of only 37k on PC. Is the difference in popularity of this game on console and PC really that big?

MrDead279d ago

Well done Mundfish, I had a fun time with this game... apart from the 2nd dlc. Great world building, a solid storyline and Bioshock style gameplay. Looking forward to what comes next.

DivineHand125277d ago

I started playing the game on Gamepass a while back. I stopped because it wasn't my cup of tea.

I am glad they were able to build a fan base for this game.
