"When we were children, we wanted two things: a Super Mario Bros. movie and a Final Fantasy fighting game; we got one of those things, and it made us wish we were dead.
Today, fifteen years later, we have the other one. Does it make us wish we were dead - or does it make us wish we were more alive?
This is a difficult question to answer. Come inside, then, and watch me run confused circles around myself as I attempt, with great vigor, to analyze Dissidia: Final Fantasy, a veritable cornucopia of aesthetic competence, attention to detail, affectionate fan service, and ever-present, cascading, waterfall-like arithmetic. Shucks, forget analysis - I'll be lucky if I can even describe it accurately without punching myself in the face on accident."

The fact this has vanilla Dissidia instead of Duodecim tells me not to take the list serious. Duodecim is obviously the superior since it has the same content (story included) from the first game and (much) more

LOL. I'm not sure if thats a good thing or not.
ok so in short, the bad things about this games are that there IS a story and the combat system is complex...

Enjoy =P
i've got a copy of the game and got really confused with the review, he hated it but he liked it? i've gotta say that the system is complex when you try to edit a character but on the battle system it's not, to have only 2 attacks, one that damages the HP and one that damages the brave point (this will be the one that you'll use to damage an hp). and to have a japanese copy wasn't really a problem for me. the review is just stupid, go buy the game when it comes out.
This isn't exactly the first Final Fantasy fighting game......apparently Kotaku doesn't remember Ergheiz.
