Wow another dev kicking the PS3 and loving the 360

Well Sony fanboys are you going to twist and say again that it's all a big lie???

And believe me, Mercenaries 2 is coming to the 360 for sure. Done deal

Captain Tuttle7028d ago

That's quite the spin, Mart. I didn't read the interview as bashing the PS3 or Sony at all. Just a little challenging at first to program for.

Antan7028d ago (Edited 7028d ago )

To be fair Mart, i read the headline in the same way! lol, but once i read the article it becomes obvious! quite a lot of love for both machines and nice to know they have other stuff in the pipeline. Mercs 2 does look interesting though.

EDIT-: oh look, im now in the 4 bubbles crew! anyone wanna join my gang?

TheExecutive7028d ago

Look at little Mart misquoting people. Quit being such an Xbot tool and remove your head from your arse. I

That is a complete miss quotation! OMG you guys are amazing. He said that the Sony guys are amazing and that the ps3 was a huge challenge to work on. They said, don't count out Sony because they aren't going anyway - as in THEY ARE HERE TO STAY. Not that Sony's stuck in the ditch. You guys are incredible.

TheMART7028d ago

Wouldn't they say anything else having to sell some Mercenaries 2 copies on the PS3 at last???

techie7028d ago

Of course not. But is there a need to spin what they were saying? Would they say something bad about the xbox360 if they are building up a strong relationship with them to create games for them? It's strange that you see it as a positive for Microsoft, but a failing for Sony when a dev says something good about both of them. Rose-tinted glasses much?

Violater7028d ago

Mart your a moron. Read the whole article.

Runnin n Gunnin7028d ago

This headline is BS. I took it out of context also but unlike a few, actually read it and Resnick actually likes the Xbox 360, and supports the PS3 and Sony. So before everyone starts bashing sony, read the article first ;-).

"We made that decision a long time ago and we … think we’re known for pushing the limits of innovative gameplay, mixing genres, and kind of having a fun sensibility of kind of irreverence that’s built into our games.

But another thing we’re known for is kind of eking out the firepower of the systems. On the PS2 we really got deep into that system and really made some great games on the PS2 that really stood out visually in terms of what we were able to push. With PS3, we looked at it and said we really think that’s going to be the biggest challenge for us, it’s going to be the hardest nut to crack. We wanted to power through that first and foremost. And Sony was really cool, got us systems early on and we spent a lot of time powering through that and we wanted to be able to really establish ourselves there and then look at other systems and stuff if that makes sense, but that’s where we started.

So the choice was simply because the PS3 was the biggest challenge?

Yeah, we wanted the biggest challenge. Sony’s always been a great partner for us, and you should never count Sony out just [because of] all the talk about all the missteps Sony has made. Hey, Sony’s not going anywhere. It’s one of the biggest brands out there and to Phil Harrison’s point in his speech at D.I.C.E., it’s like, “Look guys, we’re coming out a little bit later than the other systems, we’re having a little bit slower start, but believe me we’re going to be there in force.”

We know Sony’s going to be there in force, we’re not coming out until the second half of ’07, so do I want Sony to have a ton of platforms out there so that we can get Mercs out there to as many homes as possible? Absolutely. I want them to succeed. I’m a big fan of the 360, big fan of the Wii, big fan of some of the [older] platforms, we just saw the Sony system as the biggest challenge and we wanted to kind of jump in and tackle that first."

Look I know VIII has its issues and all that but how on earth can the do big anniversary events with new artwork and merchandise for VII, IX and X yet VIII got sweet f*** all.

They could have given it something during its 25th anniversary yet all it got was a single Happy Anniversary post on their social media.

solideagle14d ago

they should know that we are OG fans of VIII as it sold truckload as well. not as much as VII or X. I personally didn't like IX but X and VI are my personal fav.

Shadow Hearts 2 covenant is another game I love. I hope one day someone can make remake, I would be delighted

Final Fantasy VIII is great and you are always the first to defend it in the comments

"Gaming’s Biggest Fighting Franchise"

Press X to (seriously) doubt.

DarXyde21d ago

Underrated comment. I used to hate that game so much that any time my siblings asked me to play it, I just picked Hom and shut myself down mid-match.

Soy22d ago

And then MK1 killed it again.

15 years went by so fast. I remember playing through the story mode at launch.

PlayStation legend Shuhei Yoshida says Jim Ryan fired him because he didn't listen to him

Why did Sony push Shuhei Yoshida out of his role leading PlayStation's first-party games? He'd overseen some huge successes. Well, apparently, he didn't listen.

Yeah I can see that for sure. Shuhei Yoshida should have been in charge not Jim Ryan.

Cacabunga23d ago

It should be free highway for him now.. but Sony are too stupid to see this, especially that moron Hulst

S2Killinit22d ago (Edited 22d ago )

Wtf why all that anger. PlayStation is dominating on every level. Besides I think there is a little more to hiring a CEO than just who is available. Its not like its a athlete your team wants to buy.

neutralgamer199222d ago

S2Killinit

live service failures, chasing trends, closing studios. yes dominating

Cacabunga22d ago

Sony is Dominating because competition is not existing. Compared to previous gens this is the poorest in terms of software offerings.

Last gen we got Uncharted 4 Lost Legacy and TLOU2 from ND alone.

This is so far a remasters gen, with no competition to lift up the quality

1nsomniac22d ago (Edited 22d ago )

..."PlayStation is dominating on every level"....

...Really???

PlayStation are soon heading into a new generation in the not to distant future. They currently have the worst customer satisfaction they've ever sustained as a company. The company is heading for a huge crash while at the same time they'll need to be planning how they are going to try and win back that favour and the build up to their new releases.

Yes financially they're winning but they're going to have to ride out this complete public corporate disaster. No one has faith in the company or the product anymore. They've damaged their public image so much this generation. Greed can kill anyone.

medman22d ago

Hulst is a disaster......

He would've done the same thing and fire Jim Ryan and Shuhei would be the villain. Why?
Because Elite creates the narrative and distraction for gamers, users and citizens.

Outside_ofthe_Box23d ago

More confirmation that Jim Ryan is the culprit for what has happened to Sony. Hulst needs to go too. What sucks is that a lot of the good top heads at Sony are no longer there. I wish that guys that were forced out prematurely by Dumbo Jimbo like Shuhei and Layden came back.

robtion22d ago

Yep. Yoshida was responsible for bringing one of the best games of this generation to playstation (Stellar Blade). He is an actual gamer and is in touch with what gamers want (creative, fun games, not GaaS and agenda pushing). He also seems like a genuinely nice guy if you watch some interviews. Of course they got rid of him.

darthv7223d ago

Makes you wonder if MS even thought about hiring him after Phil and Sarah were leaving. He certainly couldn't make their situation any worse.

Agent7522d ago

Microflop. After Windows XP and Xbox 360, it all went floppy.

S2Killinit22d ago

Floppy 😆
No pun intended

badz14923d ago

Yoshida for President! Jim Ryan was and always be a hack! Sony should get Shu back

Lightning7723d ago

All the gamer/consumer lead heads are gone across PS and Xbox. shuhei gone phil's gone (questionable) but gone. The future of gaming is somewhat uncertain across the board.
