the very 1st second made me WOW!!!!. It looks beautiful seriously it does. Very good. I'm leaning more to getting this game in 09 now.

Ive never even played a RPG in my life and im 24 years old, im mostly into the action, multiplayer shooters but for some reason just watching this gameplay vid had me hooked almost like i was actually playing it.. I might have to broaden my horizons and check this out when it comes out during the in between times im taking a break from owning noobs on Killzone 2 :)

The game doesn't look amazing but it does look good and worth a play through. It also looks deep so I'm going to keep my eye out for this one when I decide to get a PS3.

As much as i loved Joan of arc from lvl 5, isnt there anyone here that considers this game too look empty and dull ?

I dont understand the hype for it, it seems underachieving compared to joan of arc and dragon quest 8.

this games plays just like ff online. almost like they copied the same concept. even the battles are the same. i think i just lost interest in this game.

nice graphics but looks way too much like Final Fantasy 12 for the ps2.

I'm a PS3 fanboy and an even bigger fan of JRPG's so it pains me to say that after seeing that video, I'm losing interest in this game.

The combat reminds me of World of Warcraft. This might as well be a WRPG. Whatever happened to good 'ol JRPG?. Seems like all of them are going this route now with the boring hack n slash combat!

One of things I liked with JRPG combat is the over the top special moves.

Well, hopefully the story is good and the character are likeable and have good development. Music was boring too. Very forgettable so far, so I'm hoping things get better there as well.

And yes, I already know I'll get disagrees, but those are my honest feelings on this.

Graphically it does look like an HD FFXII, but let's remember people Square is the only developer that makes RPGs that actually have impressive up to date graphics. The video was boring as hell but of course the combat has more to it than just regular MMO "Stand In Front of The Guy And Slash" BS. Jesus it's one video, stop acting like it represents the full breadth of gameplay. But seriously, Level-5 certainly didn't do themselves any favors waiting so long to give people a good look at the game.

1st Day Purchase for me!

Well am not holding all that much hope for it but I will be buying it regardless. I already own Valkyria Chronicles and Diseaga 3 so I plan to buy every exclusive J-RPG for the PS3. I couldn't be less interested in games like Fall out 3 there far to Americanized.

As for beeing like FF12, fact is FF12 got 40/40 in Famitsu, while WKC got 29/40, so it is probably a far inferior experience, and that is what i see in the video too

For all the hype this game looks a bit bland. The lighting in the game seems very simple. It looks fun though. Just not the wow I was expecting from the way every one on N4G hyped it up.

i have this game what are you guys talking about? don't compare this to FF12 -_- that 1 has a great story but boring game play.i have FF12 and the Final Fantasy XII International Zodiac Job System played and finish both. WKC is so far diffrent from FF12.don't judge a game buy a video lol

Hmm, I am very concerned about this game now. You know this when a game is hyped up, then as soon as reviews hit, people tell each other not to hype the game up....
I was looking forward to this game, but it just looks dull and lifeless, I can assure you I'm most certainly not a fanboy, but compared to hustle and bustle of towns in Fable 2, it just looks bland. I really hope this turns out to be what I initially expected, as I'm still left wanting on the PS3 JRPG front.
This remains a day 1 purchase, but only just.

I actually think the graphics look very neat in this game. The gameplay is FF12ish but that is not a problem for me. The only negative side is these gigantic cities with almost no inhabitants or anything.

Looks really interesting. Hope the put out a demo on PSN.

This gen hasn't been the best for games, last gen consoles are still out there and now there's been talk of the PS6 and Xbox Two for a year or so. Many games this gen will be ported to next gen and the cycle will continue. The re-release of the Neo Geo AES+, games on cartridge for £70 ($95), gaming is going back in time. Gaming has gone pricing mad with the high cost of games, consoles and controllers. The men and women at the top are clueless.

It’s always interesting to hear behind-the-scenes stories like this, especially involving veterans like Shuhei Yoshida and leadership figures like Jim Ryan. That said, there are usually multiple sides to decisions at that level. It could be less about not “listening” and more about differences in long-term vision for PlayStation. Yoshida played a huge role in shaping the brand, so whatever the reason, his impact is undeniable.

If true, and I'm inclined to believe it is, it goes to show that Sony lost their way when they became more western/didn't respect the PlayStation origin story. Andrew House and Jack Tretton did great work, but they also didn't try to fundamentally change the PlayStation DNA. Ryan oversaw the death of Japan Studio and a live service direction.

I miss the first three generations of PlayStation. The way they turned PS3 around, we knew they meant business. We were all worried for a bit there around launch. Eventually from 2008 they started shifting slowly. But since Yoshida was fired, it's never been the same. Still enjoy my PS5 daily. I got a backlog dating back to PS2 lol So I'm fine but new games aren't as appealing anymore.

It seems like we were thrown on to the worst timeline possible where everything is too expensive and the wrong people were put in positions that makes the world a shitty place. We could have had Shu as the head of PS but we got the shitty alternative. Same goes for everyone in power around the world. Doesn’t matter the company or country the majority of us got the shitty picks and the world is declining like never before. I do think PS can come out of this because of their studios, talent and IP but they need someone more in touch with gamers leading things like Shu was. They’re still the best place for console gaming imo but it could be much better than it is especially without the massive live service failures. The rest of the world I have a lot less hope for right now. Hopefully the pendulum swings back towards the good ole days but I’m preparing for the worst.

So now there's certifiable proof that Ryan was in fact "fired", as opposed to when it was first announced that he "retired", in order to save face.

There's another guy who recently "retired" as CEO of another large gaming company, after doing a dismantling job as lead for well over a decade.

seems legit, the business man, fires the one who has ideas to move the business forward.

Jim Ryan is the reason why we are entering year 6 since the PS5 launch and many of us don't feel like the PS5 has gotten started as yet.

I hope going forward, we will see a return to form.
