Resident Evil 4's Remake Can Avoid RE3's Worst Mistakes

Resident Evil 4's remake could be an amazing title if Capcom can avoid cutting out major sections of the game as it did with Resident Evil 3.

It’s always funny when people say RE3 made mistakes. I played RE3R more times than I played RE2R because of how tight and focused it was. I played it maybe 7 times and enjoyed all of it. I am like a few trophies from the platinum and consider playing it again but I have other things I need to finish and force myself not to.

It's a fantastic game.

Had the original not existed I doubt people would be upset with it. The problem is the cut content was pretty significant. So, when you promise people a remake there's some expectations and ultimately not including sections like the park and clock tower was rather disappointing.

I wish they spent a little more time in the city. Like, the first third of the game is perfect.

Re3 is 45- 55 mins long on it the second playthrough when you ship the cut scenes. They game is a tragedy at full price and a good game at $15-$20

Eh, you're getting into perceived value at that point. I understand how you feel, but that's more of a personal thing. For me, I didn't feel cheated from spending $60 on it. I played it multiple times and it's a blast speed running with infinite ammo. You also get that weird ass MP game included... take that for whatever it's worth when we actually can play it. As a massive fan of the older games it did feel like a let down not having all content included. Had they done that I don't feel there would be quite the backlash.

I mean, technically you can beat RE2 Remake in less than 2 hours. I wouldn't consider that a tragedy at full price.

I feel you. The one thing though is you can beat re2 in 2 hours if you plan and try to do it. You can beat re3 in less then hour on accident.

That's my though on it as well. I platinumed it after many playthroughs and will go through it again at least once a year. Just recently did another go to try out the next gen upgrade.

I dont know why the lengh of this game is criticized so much when my playthrough of Metroid Dread was under 8 hours. What's the difference? Both came out at 60.

You can beat re3 without trying in under an hour

RE3 was a mess because it was rushed and cut content

Knightofelemia1334d ago

I didn't like the fact RE3 remake was missing half the game and yet Capcom wanted full price for the remake. The RE3 remake for missing half the game should have easily been a $40 not an $80 Canadian price.

There is no way RE4 doesn't have cut content. The military part at the end is being cut for sure(doesn't gel with the new serious vibe) and seperate ways. Maybe we will get seperate ways...but as paid DLC.

The UK Has Gone Mad for Resident Evil After the Huge Success of Requiem on PS5

Capcom recently released Resident Evil Requiem, and it's been so successful that it's seemingly dragging along every other Resi game with it.

That's certainly true in the UK; the latest physical retail charts have come in, and the top 10 includes five Resident Evil games across all platforms.
