All-In On Battlefield - Ridgeline Developing Next Campaign

"20 years ago, on September 10th, 2002, DICE and EA released Battlefield™ 1942, ushering in a new kind of first-person shooter – one that allowed you to partake in massive battles set in a WW2-themed sandbox that encouraged creativity and led to spectacles that we all know as Only-In-Battlefield moments. Since that time, we’ve explored many eras and theaters of war, from the trenches of the first World War to the jungles of Vietnam, the tactical warfare of modern combat and even glimpses of the world of tomorrow. And you’ve been with us all the way. We could not have created these games without your support and input.

Your feedback has been instrumental in evolving Battlefield™ 2042. The team has been hard at work and has made strides in pushing Battlefield 2042 closer to our ambitions. With the launch of Season 2, we’re proud of the work we’ve done on the game and are committed to continuing to support it. We’ll keep listening to your thoughts and we’ll use those to continue to evolve Battlefield 2042 as well as to act as learnings for our new experiences that are in pre-production."

Just go back and keep making BFV better. The pacific update really landed and it looked like it was turning around. Then it was abandoned.

RaidenBlack1360d ago

^ this.
BFV had much potential. The way they were moving with the updates, covering each theatre after another was really well thought out. We didn't even get to the substantial Soviets or the Eastern Fronts part.
But alas, people screamed, "where's modern battlefield?" and the initial shaky launch of BF:V didn't help either.
So ... you guys got your "modern" BF. Hope you "enjoy".
BF:V still looks, plays awesome to this day.
EA did BF:V dirty just to appease the fans. And now the whole BF franchise is tainted.

PhillyDillyDee1359d ago

Yup. The feel of BFV was super solid. Specifically Movement was the best in the series to date. Its the last BF i will ever buy at launch. It makes me sad thinking about what it couldve been without all the BS trend chasing…

Inverno1359d ago

But V was also a mess at launch, so by that logic why not just stick to 2042 till it gets better? Better idea would be to release a BF that isn't a complete disappointment at launch. Honestly I don't understand why they keep releasing new BFs when they've all been reskins of 3

Add Dualsense, and support HZ more.

I keep thinking about bad company when I see this. 🤔

Spent some time on 2042 it's a great game we'll worth it. Game had it on offer £9.99 brand new for ps5/SX versions

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Jingsing31d ago

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Tanktopmaster9231d ago

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit31d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing31d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9231d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
