Marvel’s Midnight Suns Delayed to an Unknown Date

Publisher 2K and developer Firaxis have announced that their upcoming strategy game Marvel’s Midnight Suns is being delayed.

lelo2play1375d ago

Normally like Firaxis games... but this game I have little interest.

sourOG1374d ago (Edited 1374d ago )

Same. No hype = not upset. I was going to buy this just because I like firaxis lol. Nothing about the game reached out to me personally. I’m not usually a card style player. I do still trust firaxis though. Take their time and do their thing.

monkey6021375d ago

Argh! I'm raging about this. I was really looking forward to it now. They were pushing so much media coverage too that I didn't see this coming.

gamer78041375d ago

Disappointing at first. But there are a lot of games coming out this year so I’d rather midnight Sunday be a better game than a bad reception then the game not supported or do well later

Ashunderfire861374d ago

there is Callisto Protocol coming look forward to that and God of War Ragnarok Boyyyy!!!!

abstractel1374d ago

Depends on what you think is a lot, personally I don't think there's a lot of good games coming out. It's better than last year, but that's a low bar set by the pandemic and we're still feeling the effects of it. But yeah, some really good games are coming out (assuming they turn out as good as they look).

gamer78041374d ago

@abstractel. Yah it depends on what you like I’m personally looking forward to Gotham knights and Harry Potter rpg.

Not the end of the world, I totally forgot about it

I love the Midnight Sons but an X-Com style game is not really the direction I'd have wanted the game to take, especially with a couple of characters in the team who seem pretty out of place

CorndogBurglar1374d ago

Most of the characters are out of place. Wolverine. Iron Man. Captain America. Captain Marvel. Magik. Spider-Man. Half the characters have never been in the Midnight Sons and don't even fit on the team thematically. And it's missing people like Morbeus and Elsa Bloodstone.

I still want to play this though.

ZeekQuattro1375d ago

One less game for me to worry about this Fall.

RaidenBlack1375d ago

With all those regular trailers dropping, didn't expect this to get delayed to 2023 as well.
I know Firaxis' games do not focus much on visuals but still hoping that, along with gameplay polishing, they do touch up the graphics as well.

monkey6021375d ago

Yeah the deep dive series they were running made it seem everything was moving along well

sourOG1374d ago (Edited 1374d ago )

The reactions to the trailers must have done poorly. No interest, I watched the first one or two, can’t even remember who they were lol. Iron man and Steve rogers I think. If my reaction was average then they would certainly rethink their launch. They care about their games and don’t want it to flop. I expect a rebrand and going hard in the paint with it. Only explanation I can see for the timeout huddle.

I’m not disagreeing with either of you. Their marketing would suggest it’s close to going gold. Something happened and my guess is poor reception.

Lego games are always fun... and that is one I had not played before.

isarai793d ago

It's always the ine they leave out if the headline that interests me most 😅 DBZ Kakarot, been waiting for this to pop up on plus

Kyizen792d ago

I completely missed that DBZ Kakarot was in the group, I have midnight sons and RE3 so was kinda disappointed.

StormSnooper792d ago (Edited 792d ago )

Yea, it’s my last chance to play my childhood, now that he is gone. I’m watching way too many good anime at the moment to rewatch the series but this is the perfect excuse to visit that universe.

jznrpg792d ago

Never played Midnight Suns and probably won’t anytime soon but maybe someday. Pretty good month not great not horrible. I used to love sports games when I was a kid but that was before the monetization they went through and now I avoid them.

phoenixwing792d ago (Edited 792d ago )

Not all sports games are like that but ea and 2k games are definitely

DarXyde792d ago

Definitely give Midnight Suns a download if you've got Plus.

It's great.

phoenixwing782d ago

I agree midnight sun's is fun

Eonjay792d ago (Edited 792d ago )

Heard a lot of good things about Midnight Suns! Also looking forward to Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot and will probably download 2K24 as well.

LucasRuinedChildhood792d ago (Edited 792d ago )

Not a great month for me. Will give Midnight Suns a go.

I've never played Jak & Daxter: The Lost Frontier. Might give it a go although it's supposed to just be okay.

Never played a Phoenix Wright game before, so might try Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy.

SonyStyled792d ago

The Lost Frontier isn’t a true Jak and Daxter game. If you haven’t played them before I’d highly advise skipping The Lost Frontier and spending your time on the trilogy. The real Jak games are developed by Naughty Dog

LucasRuinedChildhood792d ago

I'm a big Jak & Daxter fan. Just not that into portables so I never picked this one up (didn't know there was a PS2 port when I was younger).
