Got way too many games in your Steam library that you will never play? The Steam Deck may just remedy that.

Steam deck is the best handheld console and will remain so for a very long time. It's so amazing and I can't wait to see what newer revisions will be like

MadLad1382d ago

I was lucky enough to get one day one, but I would happily pay for an oled version; honestly.

XbladeTeddy1382d ago

Its not the best handheld, yet, the Switch still is especially the OLED screen that destroys the one on Steam Deck.

The Steam Deck is incredible though. Once I saw it running God of War, Borderlands 3 and Elden Ring all while being portable I was sold. I just hate how the screen looks compared to the OLED though but it is truly incredible tech and I can see it only getting better with time.

Ive just started adding games to my steam library. Many of which are ones I initially started on xb. Its surprising how much better some of them play on the deck compared to even a one x / series x. Ryse plays at 60fps on the deck, not on one x or series.

crazyCoconuts1382d ago

Just accepting the Epic free games whenever they're offered has built a really great backlog that I've been using the Steam Deck on. Sometimes it takes googling and tweaking to run a specific game but it's worth it.

whitbyfox1382d ago

It can’t even hook up to a TV without wires. The cheap docks don’t even charge it apparently.

It is only a handheld.

Switch is destroying it and will be the best selling console of all time.

SierraGuy1382d ago

You spelled handheld wrong.

whitbyfox1382d ago

You spelt handheld incorrectly.

livedeht1382d ago (Edited 1382d ago )

@whit, You've spelt "handheld" incorrectly... Funny game we have going lol ;P

whitbyfox1382d ago

"A handheld object has been designed so that it can be held and used easily with one or two hands:
a handheld device"

From the Cambridge Dictionary. Am I missing something?

John_McClane1382d ago

I would say yes, yes you are definitely missing something.

RPGer1382d ago

Oh so we are playing word game now?? By that "Dictionary" definition: the 80s big phones are not hanheld, go argue that in that era. + this is not some social woke thing that trying to define spmething based on "latest" trend and delusions. A handheld is handheld like PSP, Switch, Gameboy, Gamegear and Steam Deck. Playing with the words and trying to be some clever and proud boy isn't really effective. This is a technology matter words means nothing here (except for marketing), it is all about hardware and software.

BlaqMagiq11382d ago

Wow you even quoted the dictionary and proved that the Switch IS a handheld, proving yourself even more wrong. You're clearly extremely dumb right now.

darthv721382d ago

"It can’t even hook up to a TV without wires." Switch can't even do that... lol

"The cheap docks don’t even charge it apparently." Don't use a cheap dock.

"It is only a handheld." No... it is not. It can dock to a TV and use regular controllers, just like the [non-lite] switch.

I have no idea why you perpetuate such nonsense, but you can stop now.

RaveTears1382d ago

He is a Nintendo fanboy. You can't make sense with those kind of people who will protect Nintendo even if Nintendo is screwing them over.

MadLad1382d ago

Yet I can run Switch emulation on it better than Switch actually runs the games.

I couldn't give a crap how much the sales are for something. I don't own stock in Nintendo. It's about what a product can offer me.

whitbyfox1382d ago

I can emulate Playstation it doesn’t meam they are not exclusive to Playstation.

EvertonFC1382d ago (Edited 1382d ago )

Switch can't play Horizon, elden ring, forza, flight sim and lots and lots of other awesome games, I guess you just play mario games, animal crossing, Pokémon and Zelda

whitbyfox1382d ago

Those aren’t even exclusives.

I play Mario and Zelda, not Pokemon or Animal Crossing.

Also play Smash Bros Ultimate, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Bayonetta 2, Xenoblade Trilogy, Fire Emblem 3 Houses, Metroid Dread, Monster Hunter Rise, Astral Chain, Luigis Mansion 3, Kirby and the Forgotton Land, Captain Toad Treasure Tracker.

Stellar Nintendo exclusives. No wonder Switch will be best selling console of all time.

Knushwood Butt1382d ago

Mario Kart 8 and BotW aren't Switch exclusives.

RaveTears1382d ago

@whitbyfix Switch games is no longer exclusive because you can play those on Steam Deck using a emulator and play it with a better frame rate. I can buy a switch game and get my own rom from my copy to play it on the emulator.

Kakashi Hatake1382d ago

Switch is a handheld. Even if it outsells PS2, PS2 will remain the best selling console. Switch didn't get it's sells because of games, it got it because it's the only handheld on the market now. Let's celebrate mediocrity.

whitbyfox1382d ago

Switch has the best exclusives. Mario amd Zelda 97 Metacritic. Nothing this gen reaches those heights.

TheTony3161382d ago

Funny how you call the Switch a console when it's pretty much the same thing as the Steam Deck but much weaker.

ChubbyBlade1382d ago

He’s just really angry Nintendo has been leaving Nintendo fans in the dust for years. The last worth whole game was what? Metroid? My switch gathers dust.

whitbyfox1381d ago

You 2 must be really angry Switch has the best exclusives.

TheTony3161381d ago

@whitbyfox

Not really. I own a Switch for Xenoblade but that's about it, lol.

whitbyfox1380d ago

The only weak part is the Steam Deck’s games, which is the whole
point.

Nintendo Switch exclusives are at the top of Metacritic, Steam Deck has zero exclusives.

You can’t hook the switch up to a tv without wires either 🤦🏻‍♂️

Cheap docks don’t charge it? Then don’t use a cheap one? 🤦🏻‍♂️

You’re trying way too hard to hate this thing for no reason.

whitbyfox1381d ago

I don’t hate it. It’s for people who can’t afford a Switch and it’s exclusives.

Hope they enjoy it.

Back on the psp and vita days, I played much more games than I would normally play and for longer periods. What sucks though is that the switch and deck are huge and heavy, so they're uncomfortable to game lying on your back lol. Gaming on my stomach is also uncomfortable. If its sitting then I might as well play on the tv or monitor.

Although I would like a deck to play my pc games when traveling as bringing a desktop is not ideal lol. Which is what I do for the switch.

FinalFantasyFanatic1382d ago

The thing that stuffs me up on the Switch in handheld mode is the ergonomics, I had to buy the Hori Split Pad to make it reasonable comfortable to hold while I lie on my back, otherwise my hands just cramp up too much.

SPEAKxTHExTRUTH1382d ago

So far I love it. I’m not into handhelds but my Steam deck has changed that. Guess I need to start building up my Steam library. I think I’m going to buy The Tarnishing of Juxtia and Souldier for my Deck.
