I love that Sony isn't half assing their PC releases. I love that they aren't holding it back to make the PlayStation look better. If you are gonna go in then go all the way in.

cluclap1396d ago

@lonewolf, She usually tells me the opposite 😎

Inverno1396d ago

Wonder if they have any plans to add widescreen options to games on consoles this gen

I'll be getting this on the Steam Deck, looking forward to playing it for the first time.

CBaoth1395d ago

you'll see why pundits negged it as a Batman clone. But it's such a good superhero game. Spiderman and Death Stranding are still the only 2 open-world games where I PREFERRED to traverse the world rather than fast travel to points (Spidey slinging through the air was such a blast whereas Kojima's game was awesome in that you created your own fast travel points). Enjoy it man!

masterfox1396d ago

well in the end is good to see PC gamers finally are able to play the best games this game industry has to offer, and by that I mean Playstation Exclusives, you will just need to wait for some years thats all.

Shiore2u1396d ago

You really need to stop huffing paint.

PitbullMonster1396d ago

Best version of the best videogames, thanks Sony for making their consoles obsolete for me.

annoyedgamer1396d ago (Edited 1396d ago )

You're going to have to get over the console loyalty. I had to do it for the Xbox. Both Microsoft and Sony PS division are based in the US and all about profits, they don't care about us. Save up some money, build a gaming rig and never care what those corporations think again. Its freeing.

PitbullMonster1396d ago (Edited 1396d ago )

That is sad because I'm Playstation fan since day one but instead of making Playstation a better platform they are making PC a better platform. There are still no folders, no wallpapers, no ps3 emulator, the psone/ps2 emulators on ps5 sucks especially compared to PC emulators where you can play gran Turismo 4 in 4k and with AI textures. Why they don't bring the pros of pc to ps5 like mods and Ultrawide support?

ChubbyBlade1396d ago

Oh boy are you missing out on entire genres.

itsmebryan1396d ago

@Masterfox
Is it still an exclusive if it's on PC? That's what's been said for years about Xbox.

ocelot071395d ago

Nope if it's on more than one platform then it's not exclusive. Been saying this for years for Microsoft.

CrimsonWing691396d ago

Until they don’t have to wait for some years. I highly doubt that’ll be a long-term plan especially with how people don’t want to pay full price for an old game that’s $20 on the console.

PitbullMonster1396d ago

Agree, there are games like GoW and TLOU that are hard to wait two years for, which is why I haven't sold my PS5 yet, but games like Returnal, Demon's Souls and Spiderman MM can easily wait two years.

porkChop1395d ago

PC gamers won't have to wait years. That's the whole reason Sony bought Nixxes. It was to accelerate the porting process. Sony is literally investing to get their games on PC as fast as possible. That's a good thing. More people will be able to play great games.

ocelot071395d ago

It's been a year since they bought nixxes and this is the first port they have done so it's took them a year.

So is it going to take another year for them to port Knack to PC?

porkChop1395d ago

Well in the case of Spider-Man Remastered Nixxes didn't port it on their own. What Nixxes is doing is working with the devs on PC ports. That's slower initially because PS isn't used to porting games to PC, and in-house engines will need to be updated with tools and APIs for PC. But over time that process will get much faster, to the point where PC versions will be prepared from the start.

ZycoFox1395d ago

Lmao no games on PC sure, literally had some of the best FPS, turn based strategy (Worms 2) and a bunch of others since the 90's with online multiplayer.

Sure, PC has no games. Nice to know you limit yourself to a handful of PS exclusives and that's it.

This is a great reminder of how game sales have become more concentrated in a smaller number of games/series over time. In the PS1/PS2 era a game was a success if it sold a million or a few million copies. The GTA games (3/Vice City/San Andreas) were pretty big outliers in selling as much as they did during the PS2 era. So in the minds of a lot of gamers something like FF VII feels like it was as big of a PS1 game as God of War 2018 was for PS4, but in reality far fewer people bought it (though it has obviously reached additional people through remasters, etc.).

StoneTitan246d ago

this was alwalys the case and will always be the case. with everything

Zerobalance247d ago (Edited 247d ago )

What this says to me is, not many people are buying a PS to play PS exclusives. Like so many false narratives, like Xbox gamers don't buy games! It seems Playstation as a default system is a vanilla system to play call of duty, Minecraft, GTA games and a sports games.

badz149246d ago (Edited 246d ago )

if you look back into the PS history, it has always been the 3rd parties who sells the most games. it was just that the PS1 and PS2 were so dominant that many of those 3rd party games were exclusives. so, back during the PS1 and PS2 days, the strategy was "to sell as many consoles as possible in order to sell more 1st party exclusives" to ride on that wave. The strategy to push many 1st party exclusives to sell consoles only started with the PS3 when many of those prior 3rd party exclusives went multiplat but more accurately, it started with the PSP.

Sony saw with the PSP, which was being trounced in sales by the DS, that 3rd party exclusives are hard to come by if you're not dominating the market. So they started building more 1st party games and when the PS3 were facing difficulties in sales, they knew they had to rely on their own to differentiate the PS3 from the 360. So the strategy back then changed to "release more 1st party exclusives in order to sell more consoles".

the only manufacturer that is still consistently selling their hardware to play 1st party exclusives, is Nintendo, and that was because they gave up the armrace for power thus they can't rely on 3rd parties anymore as all multiplats play better on competing consoles. AND that's also why they are the most ominous in going after emulators and also patent trolling!

so, you're not wrong there, but not an "aha!" moment or anything. it has been this way since the last, at least, 15 years for Playstation.

@zerobalance

So... what this tells you is that Call of duty, being the absolute check writer that it is, has been outsold by Last of us, God of war, 2 Spider man games..... Saying Playstation exclusives doesn't sell is like saying call of duty doesn't sell because they have outsold some of iterations. Does that make sense to you?
