It's been one month since the release of FromSoftware's Elden Ring. With it's release came the open world we need. Here's why.

Elden Ring Tarnished Edition for Switch 2 appears on Amazon as a game key card, priced at $79.99 with expansion included.
Before anyone complains, this is the same price on PlayStation, Xbox and Steam. It comes with the Game and the DLC.
A newly uncovered piece of cut content from Elden Ring has revealed an intriguing plot thread that never made it into the final game.
Red Dead Redemption 2 mod turns the game into Elden Ring, adding spells, boss fights, and Uncle as the final boss.
A step in the right direction for sure.
I gotta say, I'm not much into RPG games as I find them too complicated for my gamestyle. Being a casual gamer with limited gametime at hand it's hard to get into a massive game these days.
With that said I am absolutely loving Elden Ring. It's massive in scale, there's little pressure to make you advance with the world being so open - In a good way, the enemies are well designed, especially to look at visually, the world is filled with things to do.
Admittedly, I've ventured backwards and forwards to the 3rd save point (sites of grace) just to get a feel of the world & gameplay and I'm in ore of what's on offer here. Really looking forward to advancing in this game.
I felt much the same with Bloodborne too yet DS games didn't do it for me.
I must stop writing and get back into it. It's hard to put Elden Ring down to be honest.
I think From Software usual cryptic narrative is emphasis perfectly with a well built open world.
It turns the gameplay loop from a list of tasks to tick to a real need to wander through the world to get a hint of what is going on.
The unexpected have a huge place in Elden Ring world, that’s what makes it organically credible I think.
I am 80+ hours in, and still have the feeling to only have scratched the surface of it.
60 hours in and the elden beast defeated, i have to say the game is every bit as good as the reviews say it is.
If you get stuck just move along and level up and come back later, the world is beauful in that FS way, espcially nokron and nokstella, loved going there.
Honestly i know people say the difficulty is the rewarding part and im calling bullshit, i wouldve loved a much easier version just exploring the lands in between every nook and cranny and its gorgoues structures minus the anxiety of am i gonna lose all my souls.
Currently just going through and completing all the questlines i missed along the way.
The one thing i will say is i wish there was a way to track quests in some way shape or form.
As honestly we all end up on youtube trying to figure out whats next due to how obtuse it is which just isnt great quest design.
Not saying it need to be horizon hand holding but just a little less obtuse than it is.
Literally the only complaint i have though, otherwise its a remarkable game.
Without wanting to give anything away, while making tentative forays into the areas around where you begin, with my basic starter gear, I suddenly found myself very far from 'home'. I could almost hear Miyazaki chuckling.
I could have fast traveled back but I chose to go back on foot and the journey back was one of the most memorable and intense experiences I've ever had in gaming. All thanks to the open world setting.
